Following up to my previous post about well-controlled (or not) asthma, I filled in an online consultation form. Had a phone call from the surgery pharmacy team who suggested I try trimbow. I did explain my concerns about the anticholinergic bit as I had a rough time trying Spiriva in November and December last year - incredibly dry mouth that didn't get better and sinus infections. He's going to phone me back in 3 weeks to see how I'm getting on.
I was a bit bothered to see that he's put me on the lower dose one, considering I'd been taking 2 puffs twice a day of DuoResp 160 (as well as extra puffs as needed) but the pharmacist where I get my meds from explained it to me that the powder in the trimbow is finer than in the duoresp so it should work better, plus the glyco pyrr (whatever) bit should help too. She's going to phone me back next week to see how I'm getting on. You can tell I'm not overly confident in this new inhaler but I'm trying to give it a fair trial.
So far the dry mouth is manageable and the peak flow is stabilising, but I've needed two puffs of ventolin this morning and had to cut my workout short. This may not be down to the change as my lungs have been iffy for a few weeks due to pollen.
