mini break
well the hormone treatment is going well, slight side effects like hot flushes and tiredness, but not that bad, I’ll be having radiotherapy in May so I’ve booked a mini break for myself and my wife in Santa Ponsa, Majorca at the end of April, seems like a great idea

63yo, 4+4=8 Gleason, PSA 0.05 (56 before treatment). I’m doing the triplet treatments with Lupron, Nubeqa, and taxotere (for chemo). My med oncologist has called it the STAMPEDE trial, although I’m not actually in a trial. I was diagnosed last August and recently finished chemo. I’m still on ADT.

I just got my monthly PSA and T results. I am not on any ADT medications for about 17 months now or any medications for that matter. last month results: psa(.11) and T= 700 This month(today): psa(.19) and T=130 I can understand why psa increasing but why T dropped to this level. Is this considered

Does a biopsy of a recurrent LN will help in anything ?
Hi all, short version of my Bio: RP in 2019 followed by 33 sessions SBRT with short term ADT (6 mo). Reccurence in 2021, SRT to one LN in 2022, 5 sessions with short term ADT (6 mo). As soon the ADT stopped the PSA started rising, it´s 0.53 now. A new PSMA PET last week showed a bunch of small points

Article regarding MCRPC and prognosis….Feedback?
Stumbled upon this article today as I am trying to research more about my dads cancer that has now become resistant to hormone therapy. It explicitly states that “MCRPC is associated with poorer outcomes, with most patients dying within two years of diagnosis (4).Apr 14, 2022” I don’t know if there

Expectations after six cycles of Taxotere
My husband was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer nearly three years ago, receiving a regimen of ADT, which included abiraterone, Lupron and prednisone. When that no longer worked, he started first-line chemotherapy. He just completed his sixth cycle. His PSA dropped until the sixth infusion

CRPC - causes and prevention of
This is the first time I have seen this explanation of why we become CRPC, do we know this to be true? This sounds like Gatenby's theory of killing off the weeds in a field allowing the non effected weeds to prosper. Does radiation kill these cells as well? This excerpt came from an NIH paper that

Epigenetics - Heritability - Cadmium
Soon after diagnosis I joined a group headed by a man who viewed PCa as a modern disease with its origin in the womb. His bugbear was "Estrogen-like endocrine disrupting chemicals" (EEDC). I had come across the weird PCa risk factor of the second to fourth digit ratio, which seemed like voodoo science

ADT Recommendations
I'm probably looking at starting salvage radiation soon with 4-6 months of ADT. The doc suggests starting with Casodex and then two sequential Lupron shots. Is there a better way to do ADT for that period? I'd like to get my testosterone back quickly at the end of the treatment period if possible.

Does a big drop in PSA a month after the start of hormone treatment possibly represent a higher chance of cure?
Hi all, I have been researching and I have been wondering if big drops in PSA right after hormone treatment should give you more hope at a cure or if this does not change the situation at all? Father PSA of 226 dropped to 3 one month after Firmagon shot, and then 0.3 a month after that, and then 0.13

PSA Climbing while on Zoladex and Abiraterone with Prednisone
I have an appointment with Oncologist today. Going to ask if i can switch the prednisone for dexamethasone. Not sure if they will approve it. I was scheduled to start Xgeva. As I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis due to having ADT since 2017. What other treatment should I look forward to having

Seeking advice on course of action after Decipher Report
My Decipher Report came in and says that my Genomic Risk is High (0.66; 5 year risk of metastasis is 4.1%; 10 year risk of metastasis is 8.5%; and 15 year risk of prostate cancer mortality is 7.0%). I initially thought 7% sounded pretty good, but my RO said no, it's not, and he recommends getting going

When do hot flashes end once ADT is suspended?
I was on ADT (Eligard) quarterly injections from January 2021 to November 2022 (two years). I am still experiencing the side effects of frequent hot flashes, low energy levels, weight gain, etc. I would just like to know when I might expect the hormones to have been "flushed-out" of my system and my

Any Dr Geo Followers
Is anyone on here a follower of Dr Geo Espinoza in NYC? He is a proponent of "neutraceuticals" and has a very good following. He offers some pricey but reportedly quality supplement regimens for PCA patients at all stages. I am considering starting the ADT/Regimen 03. Curious as to anyone else's experience

The Use of Low Dose Estradiol to Ameliorate the Effects of ADT on Bone Mass Density
I have been conducting a long-term n of 1 trial since January 23, 2021 using lose dose estradiol (E2) gel to counteract the effects of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) on bone mass density (BMD). I believe that I now have sufficient data to report that low dose transdermal E2, along with exercise and

An Important thing to know if considering Estrogen Therapy.
My experience using estrogen as my only form of ADT has been positive. However, when my psa started rising and I began to feel pain in my spine and pelvis my MO put me on Zometa (bone drug IV every 3 mo). Was it necessary? I have no idea. I now get mildly sick for about 36 hours after the infusion

quick update
just spoke with my urology nurse consultant, my PSA is now 0.05, looks like the hormone treatment is working, looking like radiotherapy will start April/ May, I’ve got a personal trainer sorted out and a diet plan, and the effects of the hormone injection have eased, so I’m feeling positive Regards

Bone Density - Dexa
I read somewhere that in the pre-Lupron days when DES (Diethylstilbestrol) was commonly used, bone loss was not a major issue. My 19-year history falls into three phases: i) continuous testosterone [T] ii) alternating 3-month periods of ADT & T iii) my version of BAT (LongBAT) - a single T injection
