Amitriptyline
Hi all just been prescribed
Amitriptyline
10mg for nasty migraine headaches most of what I find on the internet appears to regard this as a pain relief but also not suitable for someone having had a recent heart attack. My heart attack was 12 months ago...what is considered recent?

Amitriptyline and weight gain.
So I'm just trying to see if the benefits of
amitriptyline
outweigh any affects - before I get to the stage that it might be suggested to me. Thanks. Iain :)

Neuro symptoms worsening please advise
I am taking
amitriptyline
10mg for this. Should I try daily injections? What are other people experiences? This year has been hell and I now distrust every damn doctor in the UK. Thanks

Advice Needed
He also prescribed some pain killers for during the day and
Amitriptyline
to help me sleep at night. This was all fine until yesterday when I woke up to find my fingers clamped shut into a fist and I was unable to release them.

Do I have Hashimoto's or CFS?
On 19 Oct he prescribed
Amitriptyline
. First 10mg but now I am on 40mg. I don't feel any better at all. Which is what has led me to think that maybe we'd got it right in the first place.... Leaning towards CFS: Some symptoms have changed.

What time to take Pred. ?
I have always assumed that that would make sleeping even harder than it is now for me ( I have to take
Amitriptyline
to help) but, apparently, it can help with sleep, presumably because the effects are not felt for a number of hours and kick in at the right time in the morning?

Cognitive impairment
Long story, short, two hospital stays and a few Rhuemy appointments later I'm on Hydroxychloroquine, steroids,
Amitriptyline
and Omeprazole and Calceos. My biggest problem, the thing that upsets me most is that my GP doesn't seem to understand.

Venlafaxine and Fibromyalgia
Hi I was prescribed
Amitriptyline
in January having been assessed as having Fibromyalgia after 2+ years of symptoms and my GP excluding all other possible diagnoses. I have not been able to cope very well with the side effects so only take it when I have a flare up ( 3 so far this year).

New blood results
I have just had a diagnosis of Asthma for my breathing troubles for which I am on a steroid inhaler and Fybromyalgia for all my joint and muscle pain (they are waiting for advise from a Cardiologist as to whether it is safe to put me on
amitriptyline
as one of my ECG's was slightly abnormal).

I can`t take Nifedipine as one of the side effects is constipation, and, as I`m already taking
Amitriptyline
for nerve pain (and constipation is a big side effect of that), I don`t want to risk taking medication which will make that worse.

How long after lap does healing take?
In terms of symptoms, I was having pretty severe IBS and bladder problems, and my GP has prescribed me
amitriptyline
to help with those, which has done wonders.

Undiagnosed 13 Years Post - TBI
Although I indicated the sleep problems became chronic post injury I was sent on my way with Anti depressants (
amitriptyline
). As my bloods where fine and the MRI after the accident was fine my TBI wasn't related to the Insomnia.
