CRP going up?
Recently in general all going ok. Was put on mtx about 10-12 weeks ago, didn’t have any obvious adverse effects other than a bit of hair loss, but doing fortnightly bloods as recommended. At this time was tapering slowly around 12.5 & 11mg CRP was gradually decreasing and test done beginning of July

numb painful thigh
This is a new thing for me… I’ve had fibromyalgia for years but started with a pain the outside of my right thigh - originally smaller than my palm (it’s now much larger) I’ve had a cortisone injection which did nothing. I’ve tried naproxen. Today the pain is starting in the other leg. It’s affecting

Amitriptyline and IBS
Just looking for some advice. My consultant has asked for me to go back on Amitriptyline. Last time I lasted less than a week. I couldn’t handle the side effects. This time thou he’s explained things a lot more thorough. And also said he thinks in 3 to 6 months he thinks I’ll have my IBS under control

More drugs!
Some of you will know we moved from Cornwall to the Bristol area which obviously meant registering with a new doctors surgery. I’ve been about three times and you can never see the same doctor even though they say make an appointment to see me after your blood test. Anyway the last time I went was partly

It’s as though I go from being not pregnant to 10 months + in a matter of minutes ! It’s really painful in upper stomach both sides especially

Nothing stops stomach pain
Hi, I'm new here. I've been diagnosed with IBS. I have been prescribed Amitriptyline but it hasn't helped stop daily stomach pain. Cocodamol nor Buscopan has helped either. Does anyone have any other suggestions of how to help relieve stomach pain. I don' t get bloating but the pain can be unbearable

Itching
Greetings - I was diagnosed in September 2022 with a mild form of PBC. I don’t really have any symptoms and don’t take any medication for it. I was only referred to a hepatologist after years of irregular blood tests showing raised ALP and Gamma-GT. I’ve had a multitude of scans, blood tests etc to

Help! I'm bringing the neighbourhood down..
It's not an exaggeration. My garden's a neglected mess of weeds and everyone else's either looks great and well managed or at least is covered in paving or concrete. I used to be very chatty with my neighbour, but our shared fence is covered in mature ivy (I didn't plant the thing, it was there when

High Ferrtin level - 3/57 ugL. The range should be between 30 - 250 (Woman)
Since my last two blood test over 4 months, my ferritin level has been Ferritin * 3/57 ugL. The range should be between 30 - 250. This is of a great concern to me as I suffer from the following Conditions: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sarcoidosis, High Blood Pressure, Lower Back pain - Severe Degenerative

medication intolerance
Hi is there anyone else on here who struggles to tolerate any medication for fibromyalgia because of side effects? I put on a huge amount of weight with amitriptyline, sweated buckets with duloxetine and had much worse fatigue with pregablin. I am currently going through a horrible tramadol withdrawal

sleep
Hello, I developed Tinnitus last November after a cocktail of Atorvastatin, Amlodipine and Felodipine. Symptoms slowly worsening during the course of this year. My surgery insisted Atorvastatin was not part responsible and advised it could help with tinnitus symptoms. In desperation I restarted

‘Little evidence’ whether or not most antidepressants work for chronic pain
Last year, I took a fairly low dose of Amitriptyline for the effects of shingles - primarily pain. I think it helped a bit - and it definitely seemed to help me sleep. But the side effects were unpleasant. (Tiredness, especially in the morning. Dry mouth.) Though in such situations, it is always going

Amitriptyline? Or something else?
I’m advised my by GP to take 30mg Amitriptyline daily. However, this amount makes my restless legs worse. I’m lying in bed now awake at 3am, so I’ve taken two paracetamols and 30mg codeine. I sometimes think the drugs we take makes things worse. What do you take for Fibromyalgia?
