***Revision at conclusion***ALT, AST, Alk-phos and their possible insignificance in monitoring PBC progression?
Hello friends, Ever since I was diagnosed with PBC last year I've been anxious everytime I have my labs drawn. I'm always anxious to know all about what my Liver Function Tests (LFT's) numbers are and if they're rising. When I joined this group many were concerned about elevated AST, ALT, and Alk-phos

Test results including vitamins, full blood count and liver function
Hi, I would really appreciate any insight that anyone might have on these test results. Asked gp to test iron, b12, folate and ferritin, and she decided to order a bunch of other stuff too. Full blood count, everything came back within range except for Mean Cell Haemoglobin level 26.8 pg [27.0-33.5

Alk-phos climbing up... 😔
Hello all, Well, got my labs back. Everything is in normal range except my AMA M2 and my alk-phos. It's elevated yet again. Slowly over the past few months it's been climbing. It was 162 three weeks ago and it's 174 today. I'm taking the mid range level of my URSO for my weight but I'm still within

Generic URSO & Effectiveness
This is a repost from a PBC patient on the Yahoo forum. It got me thinking about different brands of URSO and their effectiveness. I'm interested in any feedback because I've been on a "generic" URSO for 8 months with no change. My alk-phos fluctuates but has never normalized. Thanks, Stella I was

Ezetimibe anyone?
My consultant recently wrote to me and advised that she wanted me to start ezetimibe as my alk phos was higher than she was comfortable with at 280. I can find nothing online about the use of this drug in PBC and don't like blindly taking things without knowing a bit more about it. I have an appointment

Why are my LFT rising?
Been a rough week here. We had 2 deaths in our family and I drove from Indiana to Kansas and back to Indiana in the course of 3 days with my elderly mother and my 4 month old baby in tow. Saw my GI Friday, which is why I drove home immediately following the funeral. Anyway, while I was there she said

Alk phos level and ezetimibe
I have just been told that at 285 my alk phos is too high and I should start another drug called ezetimibe on top of the urso. I have to stop breastfeeding my 15 week old as a result so I just wanted any thoughts on this prior to taking this step which I'm quite upset about.

Cause of liver enzymes continuing to rise? ALT and AST
Just an update- when we went for his 3rd chemo last week the blood tests beforehand showed his liver enzymes had risen again- to just under 200. PSA is down to 68. We had gone off all supplements after 2nd chemo due to enzymes being high. Because we went off all supplements (except D3, Omega 3, and

Blood clots and blood in urine (no radiation)
My husband had a TURP 8/4/17 (in history below) but has not had any other surgery. Had second round of taxotere last week...next one in two weeks. He's had mild blood in urine since two days after first chemo. A few small clots. Onc says to keep an eye on it. He's away for business this week and just

Liver Enzymes up
My profile info is below... In our visit for chemo yesterday his bloodwork came back with elevated ALT/AST/BUN-Creatinine ratio- you can see numbers below. Thankfully PSA is going in the right direction. The oncologist wants us to go off of all supplements to get a baseline. We both take some herbal

What next? Test results are normal....
Hi all, after many months of lurking, have finally signed up as I'm at my wits end as to what to do. Back in May 2017, after many years of prevaricating for fear of being treated like the village hypochondriac, I finally went to see my GP about the myriad of symptoms I was feeling. He ordered a full

Yet another blood tests results
Hi guys, after my concerns with previous blood results (from endo), I went to see my new GP and asked if any of it can be addressed. Initially I found her to be more perceptive than any other doctor before. After showing her my results and describing my symptoms she ordered her own blood tests altogether

looking to go private as NHS waiting is more than 2 months to see specialist.
Hello all, I wonder could anyone spare a few minutes to give me advice. I was admitted to A&E last Friday by a walk-in centre doctor because of my chest pain. The blood test are all normal apart of - Alanine aminotransferase level : 309 iu/l -- normal range should be 0 - 40 My GP contacted me on Monday
