Please look at the petition to stop local health services being broken up & taken over by irresponsible private companies
A prime example is ATOS others are G4S (remember the security fiasco at the Olympic), A4e and
ALS
( Court Translation service). There will be a letter written by John published in the Guardian tomorrow ?

Had the appointment now
I was told I didnt have pbc by my GP when she discovered the positive AMA and normal LFT in August this year. Despite this I was referred to a consultant for further tests and since then I have waited around on nhs lists hoping to see a liver specialist, but with the prospect of a 5 month wait i decided

Lost my brother to ALS
My brother Doug lost his battle with
ALS
this afternoon, quietly and on his own terms. As per his final wish his brain will be part of a familial
ALS
research study at U of Mich. Our dad died 40 years and 2 months ago from
ALS
and, of course, I have PD.

Still JUMPING FOR JOY despite everything. Who else has a family history like mine?
We have a familial gene of
ALS
on my maternal side. My mother, who passsed away in 2009 was the 5th person to have
ALS
, and the 6th person my only sibling, my sister just passed away from
ALS
in December of 2011. It all seems like a nightmare, but this is reality our family.

To clarify why I post things on this blog, please read....
After seeing my mother and sister pass away with
ALS
I decided I should use my abilities to be an advocate for both Parkinson's and
ALS
. I simply share things on this site as I have a true desire to help with our quality of life.

Vitamin D's Impact on Autoimmunity
I have always felt that MS,
ALS
and Guillian Barre are tied in some fashion to vitamin D metabolism. It appears Dr. DeLuca believes this as well now."

Blessing and a Curse
My best friend since the age of 4 has
ALS
and we laugh and joke about how two people in a very rural area could both have neurological disorders.

Many pieces-no puzzle
- the cause of all
ALS
is an accumulation of ubiquilin2 and it is suspected to cause other neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson disease.

Jamie Heywood, his brother Stephen, Born Slippy by Underworld and me....
Stephen got
ALS
, a really crap thing to have, no treatment no cure generally those diagnosed get 3 years..... the body is slowly stripped of every function, so I am to believe. Stephen Heywood was struck down in his prime.
