Starting Xolair Treatment..but nervous
I’m 38 years of age..asthmatic since age 1..I’ve always experienced asthma flare ups but since my teenage years I would say I’ve successfully controlled and lived a normal healthy life with asthma. Last year my asthma took a dark turn, I came down with a bad strain of flu..hospital..breathing rehab etc

Hay fever and Asthma Hell
So far have really been fighting a good fight, but do feel there are external forces who don’t agree with me running...Took an extra rest day after my last run to wake up to this pollen count...🤯 UPDATE: Did it! W7R2 done! Did have to use my inhaler half way through, and during the Toxic Ten it was

Fiery nerve pain, allergies or???
My medical story is complicated. A few days ago I was put on Tildiem for SVT prevention. It seems to have re triggered GERD (that I only just got under control 😫😔), but also what I thought was hay fever, but I’m not so sure. I took loratadine the earlier and it’s made no difference. I stopped the Tildiem

This sounds like a stupid question, I know.
I wonder if others are clearer than I am about susceptibility to any respiratory viruses if you have asthma? I am thinking if your asthma is otherwise well controlled, not if you are going through a bad spell. I am asking as both my husband and I are over 70, so currently clinically vulnerable, but he

Asthma 'Newbie' - Help/Suggestions please!
Hi all - I'll try keep as brief as possible! I was finally diagnosed with asthma last Jan/Feb after a month long chest infection and a referral to a Private Consultant. I was put on to two courses of Prednisolone (20mg) with Azithromycin for 10 days. Highest peak flow reading I've ever had is 350...(

Alcohol and Severe Asthma
Hi, I have severe asthma and in the last year or so I have had increasing problems with alcohol (particularly wine) giving me exacerbated asthma symptoms. I heard that some wines have higher levels of sulfites which can given some people symptoms. Sometimes it effects me really quickly and sometimes

'Insanity' workout and eosinophilic asthma?
Hi all, so I have severe eosinophilic asthma - I take a lot of meds to control it and am awaiting possible biologics once covid is over with. I have been shielding for 7-8 weeks now and I'm starting to worry how much lack of exercise I am getting. I didn't do a lot before and only have an office job.

Another Montelukast conundrum
I’ll try to keep this short, but not sure if I can. I was put on Montelukast a year ago, after yet another bout of respiratory virus leading to antibiotics and Prednisolone. Since then it has been much better, that is i haven’t caught loads of colds. Just one, and I could manage that myself, thankfully

Couch to 5K, anyone?
I have mild chronic asthma and hay fever. I’m 68 and overweight. I’ve just signed up to Couch to 5K and did my first ‘run’ yesterday. It was hard and I cheated a bit at the end. Am I a fool to give this a go in my state of health? Anyone else with asthma done this?

Too little sleep can mean more asthma attacks in adults.
A good night’s sleep is crucial to good health. A new article in Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the scientific journal of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) reveals that too little sleep, and occasionally too much sleep, can negatively impact adults with asthma.
