Rivaroxaban or Apixaban
The clinical pharmacist at my GP practice gave me a choice between Rivaroxaban or Apixaban. I chose Rivaroxaban simply because you only have to take it once a day and I can take it with my other tablets at breakfast. I should add I have acid reflux which is well controlled if I don't eat anything silly

Pulmonary function testing
Just curious, for those who have had pulmonary embolisms, did your pulmonologist send you for a pulmonary function test? I am going for one next month, and am not sure if he is testing for any complications with the PEs I had in December, or monitoring if my asthma is under control?

First Aid in the Workplace
not sure if anyone can help with this question. You can have a DNR put on your hospital records, but can you do the same in your workplace?? Just having a debate with my hubby, talking about "what if.." scenarios. Are first aiders obligated to perform CPR on you?

Tirosint
Hello everyone. I just got my T4 tests and tsh results. My tsh is 3.08 last time it was 7.7. My doctor is keeping me at the same dose of Tirosint. I’m pretty sure he said originally that he wanted me down to 1 or point something. Will the medicine continue to lower my tsh at the same dose? Or is he just

Why do I have rib pain?
Hello all. Since I had my liver biopsy at the end of march this year I have been getting pains around the liver area (ribs) and sometimes it travels all the way round my back from right to left and wondered if this is normal so long after having my biopsy and will it go or have I got this for life now

Back to Work??
Some of you will know that since my diagnosis 2yrs ago, I have made 2 unsuccessful attempts to return to my job working in a nursery class in a primary school. Over the past two years I've only managed to attend work for two half term periods! I absolutely love my job and love all the wonderful children

My mom was diagnosed with PA awhile back and has struggled with proctitis for some time. Is there any connection? Anyone else experience this? Did B12 injections help?

Any thoughts on having a bleeding peptic ulcer and APS and Lupus Anticoagulant
I have just had a bleeding peptic ulcer cauterised and clipped. The doctor says it’s stonking! He has taken me off warfarin because of the danger of bleeding out. I have not been offered any other anticoagulant options so scary time as he does not want me on warfarin for a week. Any thoughts on his thoughts

Has anyone been diagnosed with AIH wrongly?
My 20 year old son has been having blood tests for over a year (due to the pandemic all follow up appointments were cancelled) I’ve been chasing the hospital constantly to give a diagnosis but each time they’ve said do more tests. Finally last week a consultant told him he’s possibly got AIH. This has

Neoadjuvant Androgen Deprivation Therapy in Prostate Cancer (with surgery)
Here is a link to a recent and fairly comprehensive multi-section set of articles on the use of neoadjuvant (i.e., treatment begun before the main treatment and continued alongside the main treatment) ADT. The articles are mainly about ADT and surgery, but also contain a small amount of information
