diabetic macular oedema or not!
I went for my review at the eye clinic today and the doctor there said she couldn’t understand why my right eye was not improving but my right eye had. She also said that it was strange as my blood sugars were very well controlled. She went off to speak to a consultant and the result of that was I am

Confused…?
Have had two successful Trabs. and now have been advised that Cataracts are present and are beginning to cause a problem, but have been advised that cataract surgery may have negative effect on Trabs? Any experience of this situation out there?👍

GCA symptoms
I have been suffering with PMR for going on 2 yrs. now. Developed GCA after cataract surgery within 4 days. Finally recognized by great Rheumatologist. I'm being treated with 8mls. liquid prednisolone twice a day. So far so good. Dr. recommended slow taper 1mls per week. Will start tomorrow.

cataract Surgery
I needed eye surgery to remove cataracts from both eyes, my first eye surgery was in April 2022, I then had to wait for clear vision in eye after surgery before the cataract in my second eye was removed. After both eyes regained clear vision, you need to have an eye test, and possibly get new spectacles

Tikosyn/Dofetilide
Just spent 2 1/2 day in hospital to get Tikosyn dosage right and get heart back into sinus rhythm. It Worked! I feel great. I using the generic Dofetilide. Much cheaper. I lost 7 1/2 lbs. on the bland meals. I call it "The Hospital Diet". 😊

Cataract surgery?
Has anyone had any cataract surgery while taking Pegasys? Is there a problem with eye surgery while taking Interferon? I'm about to be changed over to Pegasys from Hydrea, and also about to have cataract surgery. Some of the things I've read seem to indicate that may be a problem.

Vision in the recovery weeks ( and long term) after a trabeculectomy.
I have had narrow angle glaucoma for over 10 years and despite years of drops and a laser iridotomy in both eyes my glaucoma is slowly progressing. My sight loss in my left eye is not too bad at all ( patchy small areas) but I do feel my central vision is not as good in my left eye ( no cataract or other

GCA and Ear Swelling, Pressure
Can GCA cause ear swelling ? I have GCA and constant ear pressure, soreness. My general practitioner couldn’t find any thing that would cause it, nor could an ear-nose-throat doctor. Even did a hearing test and all said everything is good. Would this be a flare? I’m on Actemra and 4 mg prednisone

The Heat
After a seemingly endless rainy season (never really cold and never really warm) summer seemed to arrive in mid-summer's day. This morning my flat is already 28C with no heating of any kind and no sunny windows. In hot weather your blood vessels dilate and particularly if you are on beta blockers, ACE

Actemra; The elephant in the room. Is it working or not working for you?
GCA Feb 2018 Prednisone therapy only. Here I am 6 and half years later and still trying to find the sweet spot with prednisone--not too much/not too little---Just right. I am trying to reduce slowly using the DSNS program because it has always worked for me. I am, however, struggling now at 4.25/4.0

New to all this
76 years old, no heart problems as far as I knew, just had one of my better games of golf for a couple of years and started to get an ache in my chest in the evening. So phoned the Healthline (I live in NZ) and they had a 30 minute wait, so tried the ambulance service, who operate a triage service.

Having a STEMI in mid 40's...the search for underlying causes / answers for premature CHD.
Hi Everyone, My husband had a major STEMI in March 2023 with a full blockage of his circumflex artery. He was 44 years old and playing 5-a-side football in a local sports centre when he collapsed without warning. Thank goodness it happened there of all places however, as the swift actions of his team

Ace Inhibitors and rls
I have had restless leg for a good couple of years. Is anyone aware of examples of ACE inhibitors (blood pressure medication) such as ramipiril causing or exacerbating restless leg? Thanks
