Have had two successful Trabs. and now have been advised that Cataracts are present and are beginning to cause a problem, but have been advised that cataract surgery may have negative effect on Trabs? Any experience of this situation out there?👍

No experience, but my consultant did say that when I did get cataracts he would like to do the surgery as he is used to working around the blebs and many cataract surgeons are not. So maybe see if you can see your original consultant or at least one who has glaucoma experience.
Hi there. I had a trab in my right eye over a year ago which successfully reduced my eye pressure from 50 to 6. A few months ago the cataract which was present at the op started to get worse. My eyesight started deteriorating then suddenly the pressure went up over 25. I was told this was due to the cataract. My surgeon said he had no option but to do cataract surgery but with that came a risk of bleb failure. I had already had a successful omni op done on the left eye so he did cataract and omni on the right. I now have eye pressures of 9 in both eyes and no more cataracts. I think the bleb has failed in the right eye as its very shallow now but thanks to omni all is good .... for now! Good luck and hope all goes well for you.
My understanding is that a trab can sometimes lead to cataracts.
