If we say we can relate, it is because we can relate... we all understand the
addiction
and how powerful it is but even more so how powerful we truly are as we overcome it. Step. By. Step.

My quit journey a long and garbled story
By the time I was admitted to hospital I was in the throes of nicotine
addiction
withdrawal. They asked many questions and took many tests. “How far can you normally walk without getting breathless?” asked a nice young doctor.

I left my 15 year marriage to get well and rid myself of my
addiction
. Long story short.... Along with covid it's left me with well just me..... Does he mean like who will look after me after the operation. Will it affect my chance of being accepted onto the list???

Does anyone else's ADHD kid refuse to do any non-screen activities? How to break the cycle of addiction?
Despite all the support we keep trying to give my 10 year old son with ADHD and sensory process disorder, and 2e (CBT, meds, hugs, schedules, zones of regulation check-ins etc) I have been struggling for a long time to find non-screen home activities that would sustain his attention for more than 15

Methionine restriction using methionase shows promise for treating advanced prostate cancer
Methionine

has been shown to be a highly-effective target for cancer therapy by methionine restriction with oral recombinant methioninase (o-rMETase) in preclinical studies, including patient- derived orthotopic xenograft (PDOX) mouse models of cancer.

Opiod theft anxiety
I try to hide my medication so it's not visible but I still have anxiety about my opiods getting into the wrong hands causing someone else harm or
addiction
. Moreover, there also is the smaller but real concern of "Oh No" I have no meds for the rest of the month.

How to Reduce Novelty Seeking Behaviour?
This obviously is an
addiction
and it keeps me from focusing on one thing to completion. I guess it releases dopamine when I seek novelty, but is there a solution to this or should I just make a concious effort to restrain myself?

The GP I spoke to (not mine) was the one I saw in 2015 when I asked for help with my alcohol
addiction
. She was horrible. Looked down her nose and sent me on my way with a lecture about the evils of alcohol. 4 years later diagnosed with Cirrhosis. Cant walk or drive. Quality of life shite.

Severe panic and anxiety
Also given diazepam which i am terrified of, to be honest, due to the
addiction
effect. I was so bad on Sunday morning that my husband drove me to A and E where i was sedated. I was then sent home but the following morning had terrible withdrawal from the drug they gave me.
