Best Ways to Protect Your Heart From Atrial FibrillationChanging your habits may be keyBy Heart & Vascular Team | 4/20/15 8:15 a.m.
I saw the following on the Cleveland Clinic website: http://health.clevelandclinic.org/2015/04/preventing-your-atrial-fibrillation/ If you’re over 40 and your heart flutters, there’s a good chance you’re one of the millions who suffer from atrial fibrillation (AF). This condition, which can cause

AF causing Heart Failure
Hi Fairly new to this... How normal is it for significant heart failure to be caused by AF. My partner had cardioversion about 2 months ago. However on his check up recently the ECG showed that his EF was still down to 20%. We do not know of course whether his AF caused the heart failure or vice versa

Swelling
Hi, I have been diagnosed with Fibro for about seven years and have many of the other effects that Fibro brings with it, but about two weeks ago my legs and ankles became swollen (I work in a shop and on my feet for seven hours). The doctor has sent me for many tests (chest X-ray today), ecg, and bloods

co2 retainer
After been rushed to hos twice in 6weeksh with respitary failure it was discovered that my c.o.p.d was in part caused by to much carbon dioxide in my blood. I left the hospital with a nippy machine, this super little ventilator removes the carbon dioxide when I breathe out and the good air when I inhale

How are you actually feeling?
Dear all, I'm sure that, like me, many of us have hospital/consultant/doctors appointments-enough to fill the whole house eighteen million times over, well it seems like it anyway! The main question, that is not always asked is, how do you actually feel? Are there times when, despite 'bad' results

Heart failure
I'm not sure whether I'm in the right place or whether anyone can help me here but my husband has severe heart failure, FH, COPD, plus several other problems. He's really struggling at the moment and there doesn't seem any more that the doctors can do. I'm also struggling because I can't bear to see

Transplant
Can anyone please let me know that the older you are you are less likely to receive a kidney transplant as I have read that after a certain age you go on a points system and are judged on age ,health e.t.c, I am 62 and the thought that I might not get a transplant because of my age really depresses me

Worried about mum- Heart attack, AF, heart block
Hello, I wonder if anyone can give me any insight or reassurance. My mum is 54 and up until June 2014 was really fit and well (gym 5x a week, healthy weight and diet, non smoker.) In June I was with her as she suffered a sudden heart attack (which was absolutely terrifying and I often get flashbacks

Swollen Ankles
I'm having a problem with swollen ankles, more accurately legs, at the moment. If I have a lie down in the afternoon it helps but if not it gets worse all day. I know it is caused by diltiazem and I think slight heart failure as well. I know I'll have to see my GP some time but I'm interested to know

Two weeks into Pred - then!
As I previously reported my GP started me on15mg on January 2nd which appears to be approximately the correct dose. I am having no issues but will see my doctor tomorrow to see what he has in mind for me. Any little tips on what to ask for my first visit to my doctor would be appreciated? I had meant

body odour changed? - check this out
Just posting this quickly as am already pooped / headache, but I was looking to see why my sweat had changed to something intolerable ( cabbages) and was all ready to blame the pain meds when I found this interesting article and now am persuing the methionine as a possible cause as it relates to my PA

I am waiting for a paired donation kidney transplant eGFR 7, am not on dialysis but suffering almost daily headaches, is anyone else in this position? Really getting me down and taking so many pain killers can't be good.

Fluid overload
I have been on capd for 6 weeks and am not feeling any better than before I started dialysis I know it's early days but was hoping to see some improvement. My big problem is that Ican't get rid of the fluid in my legs, which makes them really uncomfortable and makes walking quite difficult and very tiring

subclinical hypothyroid heart risk.
Iv`e been reading on the internet that subclinical hypothyroidism carries a substantial risk of heart faiure. Iv`e been on Leovothyroxine for 2 years now, but was diagnosed about 10 years ago. What Im` worrying about now is could I develop heart failure from all those years of not being treated? I thought
