Headaches pre dialysis

I am waiting for a paired donation kidney transplant eGFR 7, am not on dialysis but suffering almost daily headaches, is anyone else in this position? Really getting me down and taking so many pain killers can't be good.

Personally where regular headaches are a concern I would go to my doctors as there could be any number of factors causing them and they should be investigated as it would be different with different people. Stress can cause it for one.

How is your blood pressure? Mine was caused by wrong blood pressure medicine, changed to Amaldopine now no more headaches.

Are you rich? Because around here you need to first start dialysis before you get a transplant.

Sorry to read what's happening to you but there could be many reasons for the continuous headaches. Blood pressure, fluid over load or your body is needing some form of dialysis. Talk to your medical team for advice or contact your local kidney patients association.

Thanks for your good wishes, I have an appointment with my nephrologist and dialysis nurse to discuss whether or not the time has come to start dialysis as I feel I have had enough trying to cope without it.
