Cardio inversion worked on afib but not how I feel
Hi I wonder if anyone out there has had a similar experience to me following a cardioinversion. I had one Friday afternoon following three and a half weeks of Afib with a rate around 145 bpm. after 2 weeks I began to get weaker and more tired and despite being a coward I was genuinely glad to walk into

Alan Hyde - QE Hospital Birmingham.
Many people who have received their liver transplant at the QE, will most likely know of Alan Hyde. Alan has been a strong supporter of the QE for over 14-years, visiting patients on the liver transplant ward (726), Alan was also chairman of the “Queen Elizabeth Liver Patients Support Group”, and featured

Stimulant laxatives (bisacodyl, senna and sennosides, sodium picosulfate) available over-the-counter: new measures to support safe use
Much of the press has carried this story in various forms. I thought taking you to the original might be helpful. Do read carefully. [i]

Kidney failure following liver transplant
I'm now 7 weeks post transplant and my liver is working perfectly, but at clinic this week my kidney blood tests were elevated to moderate (stage 3) kidney failure. Is this common following a transplant and is it something that will improve or continue to be a concern or get worse? P.s. I am diabetic

Would you recommend the use of sauna for someone with CKD or Kidney transplant? Any good experience?
I have been reading a lot about the benefits of infrared sauna in general about health(cardiovascular, inflammation, cognitive, hormonal). Some studies mention benefits to the kidney function (http://europepmc.org/article/MED/17267744). Before buying one I would like to know if anyone had positive results

Can lung cancer treatment lead to heart problems?
I had two adana carcinoma lessions removed from my right lung and had radiotherapy on my left one, last September and November respectively. I have recently been told I now have heart failure due to these procedures which has caused the enormous amount of water retention I have experienced. Has anyone

always worrying about my heart rate
ugh.. I was having a great day, sat down whilst my food was cooking, glanced over at my Fitbit and saw 58bpm and got spooked. it's usually never below 60bpm when I'm sat down. started to feel dizzy and panicky and scared myself into thinking my heart was gonna stop or something!! this is so frustrating

confused over GFR readings
Roughly a year ago a blood test revealed my gfr as 82 with the comment stage 2 chronic kidney disease. This initially alarmed me so I googled it and was reassured that this is normal for my age (72). It also implied that it wouldn't ever get back to a higher level. A couple of weeks ago I had a routine

Hi Many thanks to everyone that replied to my post of 2 days ago. I spoke with my Cardio people this morning who suggested that I should go back to A&E, which I did. I'm new here, Oxygen when going out and about
I have just been discharged from hospital and my long term oxygen has been increased to 8 LPM when resting and as needed from 10 to 15 LPM when doing any movement. I can no longer have a conserver on my oxygen when moving with my ambulatory cylinder in a carry bag, so oxygen only lasts 45 mins. Is anyone

T3 Liothyronine that doesn't contain sodium?
Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows of T3 that doesn't contain sodium chloride? I have been suffering with water retention since starting on Tiromel and wondered if I'm sensitive to the fillers/sodium. T3 definitely helps me and I don't want to stop, but would like to find one that doesn't cause this

CAPD & Epilepsy
Hi, I have epilepsy and CKD stage 5, in the U.K. transplants are on hold because of covid-19. I have been put on CAPD as temporary measure as egfr is 9! I have noticed that when I’m on my second or third drain my epilepsy comes on I go blank and I struggle to think. Apparently there is no known link
