Alendronic Acid and Hypertension
I am on treatment for hypertension and my blood pressure soared after taking Alendronic Acid. According to some medical papers, it should be given with care to patients with hypertension.

Not sure what to think!
Well I had my first face 2 face oncology appt today, since diagnosis 18 months ago. I saw a member of the team who needed to refer to the consultant. I'm actually feeling very well, even better having had my two weeks in Scotland. And I really haven't had any nasty side effects from ibrance and letrozole

A bit confused
This may be a silly question- one of the reasons I had a dexa scan (alongside long term high dose steroids) was because I suddenly lost over one and a half inches in height. Does this mean I have had spinal compression fractures? If so, do they show upon the dexa scan? Given my t scores and frax prediction

Alendronic acid, Evacal D3 & teeth
I got an appointment to see my dentist next month but have been reading that many dentists are not really aware of osteoporosis, so I'm wondering whether I should be thinking of coming off the drugs, as my teeth have recently become quite sensitive and seem to be getting more so. I haven't got osteoporosis

Constant pain
Hi everyone I’m just waiting for my larproscopy to remove endo scar tissue but I’m in pain all the time. I’m taking mefenamic acid and codeine every single day to function but can still feel the pain. Even doing every day things are a massive chore some days and trying to get through a shift at work

Tranexamic acid
My gp has prescribed this as a way to lighten my periods until the coilis fitted. I don't know when that is. I was reffered in Jun, July and gp said a 6 month waiting list Husband is against this as all his research says about heart attacks and strokes. He also said I have lived with it this long I may

Panic mode activated :(
Feeling very much like a drama queen - but after a year and a half of no periods I bled really heavily last week - so heavily I called doc for tranexamic acid which helped years ago when I eventually had fibroids removed - he didn’t want to chalk it up to a post menopausal bleed as I’m not 50 yet so

Gastroparesis treatment?
Gastroparesis seems to be common to PD. Yesterday I realized I hadn't eaten for 15 hours but still had food in my stomach. Rytary or Sinemet are amino acids. Stomach acids must break proteins into amino acids before they can exit the stomach and be absorbed into the blood stream. The same

Hi all, I have lurked here for some time and worked up to posting. I'm a bit lost with it all. For years I have known something was wrong but having been on the pill for over a decade thought maybe I had indeed 'grown out of it'. However, first cycle post pill and every symptom came back with a vengeance

Solein plant based protein made from CO2 approved to go on the market in 2023
Hi everyone, I’m fascinated in the science behind these projects so watched this with great interest on Click on the BBC this weekend. Basically 2 Kg of CO2 can be turned into 1Kg of Solein. It is created by microbes that metabolise the carbon and emit oxygen, it has a very high protein content and

Natural remedies and food supplements
This is mainly a personal view of the usefulness of these for RLS, but is based on some reading. I hope it is a balanced view. Hopefully it offers some guidance for when you're choosing remedies. The 3 main things you should find out about when choosing a remedy. 1) EFFECTIVENESS : does it actually

Make Sure You Understand Your Full Diagnosis
In February of 2021 I had my mental health intervention. I was diagnosed with GAD, Depression Type 1 with Psychotic Features, and PTSD. As most of you know I've been trying to treat the symptoms for my anger issues, my PTSD, and my depression. Well what did I not treat? The psychosis. This is why I'm

Oméga 3 Oil supplementation & AF - new study
This perennial subject always elicits some discussion. This new study looks at the dosage & the differing conclusions prior studies have come to. Again Medscape - sorry https://www.medscape.org/viewarticle/963216?sso=true&impID=3826609&uac=323143ET&src=wnl_tpal_211125_mscpedu

Good DXA results - no more Alendronic Acid!
After 6 years with PMA and still on 10mg prednisolone, I was pleased to get a normal bone density report and very surprised to read on it the advice to stop taking Alendronic Acid as “had adequate period of treatment. Bisphosphonates remain effective for several years after withdrawal”. I raised a concern

Update on stress
GP rang am. Queried with her whether I am supposed to give Lanzaprole a holiday. She said I had been on L for a long time. I told her I get excess acid when not taking. Has reduced dose to 1 or 2 to be taken daily . Then came the next ALENDRONIC ACID and whether I would start taking it again as they

Vitamin schedules??
Hi guys alongside hashimotos I also have Sjogrens & Lupus erythematosis. I take the following vitamins Omega 3, K2, Vit D, Boron, Vit A, Magnesium with B12, B complex & Folate. Does anyone take the same vitamins & have a schedule I could follow? I'm not sure if some of them can be taken together. Also

Update on my diagnosis.
Hi all, I’ve been very grateful for your support since June. I thought I’d give an update on my condition. After many scans and tests, my new rheumatologist thinks that I have PMR after all. I’m glad we ruled everything else out - including cancer and vasculitis - as I can crack on and deal with getting

New with skin-related question
Hi, I'm new here and was diagnosed with PBC in November last year. I'm on 1000mg ursodeoxycholic acid a day. My main symptoms have been pain in the liver area and fatigue. I've also had a strange weakness in my arms at times. More recently I have been getting itching and patches of skin becoming rough
