PSP eye problems
I guess I should have mentioned we are in the US in state of Oklahoma and getting appointment for neurologist is next to impossible as the few we have say they are not accepting any new patients. Only one we found is in Dallas, TX for next June. I’ve now placed her on hospice care and will try to give

Prescribing of opiods
Having spent time working with Dr Jose Thomas in Cardiff, I obtained a referral letter to my gp surgery recommending low dose opioids. I had a very good consultation with my gp who appeared to understand the desperation I was experiencing and said that she was going to look at a range of options including

Canada trip, IBS, and possible Cystitus
Hi everyone, I'm back from 3 weeks in Canada with my son, and wanted to share a few tips. I always find the lead up to a holiday stressful, and can expect more stomach issues. What I didn't expect was trouble with urine, I've never had cystitus, then suddenly had burning/soreness on passing urine,

I don't post much because my RLS isn't too bad most nights.I tried adding that both my kidneys have failed because of catching Covid for the second time and already I have a number of health issues. I am on Peritoneal Dialysis and I am diabetic. I treat my RLS with 75mg Pregabalin, I know it's nothing

4 year old having more accidents than ever
Our 4.5 year old began having poo
accidents
around August last year. They started as dry smears, but have gotten worse over time. When we saw a GP, they put us her Lactulos twice daily. We did this for 6 months with ups and downs.

Hair Solutions (Radiotherapy Induced Alopecia / Scarring)
Good evening all, I would just first like to introduce myself to you all, as I have only just joined this group and I am very lucky to have a space like this to come and speak my mind.
Also, apologies for the long message, if you'd rather skip to the point I'll leave a bold asterisk next to it

Buscopan ibs relief
Has anyone tried this for their ibs. I don't usually take medication but as an ibs-d sufferer normally, suddenly I have started with ibs-c and ibs-d alternately. Sometimes my gut feels as if it's rushing everything through, and other times it seems to come to a full stop. In addition, I have started

Post ICU trauma
Hi, I am 7 months post critical illness. I spent 12 days in an induced coma following severe pneumonia. I was mechanically ventilated. I suffered with very traumatic coma dreams and would like to speak to anyone that has been through the same. I am struggling 7 months later luckily with no physical effects

CBD and Seizures
Hi, I witnessed my mum having a seizure yesterday eve which is the most scary experience I have had. Mum was in bed, I had just administered her meds and went into the kitchen and heard the most awful screaming (mum’s speech is limited so hearing a noise like this was alarming). I ran into the bedroom

Cogan's syndrome
Hello! Does anyone here have Cogan's syndrome? I was diagnosed last year. My symptoms started straight after my second COVID vaccine and worsened after my 3rd. I'm on Mycophenolate but think I'm becoming less tolerant to it. I feel sedated weak and nauseous. Has anyone else had this?

Finally an update! Also advice pls
Hello!! I’m back after not posting for years (I got too disheartened and gave up on a diagnosis until it just got too bad to ignore) with potentially some news. I was called in for an ultrasound and for the first time, the technician held my hands and told me she believes she can clearly see evidence

Nafarelin (Synarel) and breakthrough bleeding
Has anyone had breakthrough bleeding when taking Synarel (Nafarelin)? After starting the spray, I had a period 22-26/08 then I started bleeding again 29/08 but it’s very light/spotting. Trying to work out if this is normal??

Pelvic MRI
So a week after my Endo diagnosis following emergency surgery last Monday, I received my appointment for my pelvic MRI but the letter states it needs to be done on day 3 or 4 of my cycle. Does this mean I should be bleeding when they do it? Sorry for the stupid question but it threw me and I have actually

ongoing chronic constipation.. ‘opioid bowel & interstitial cystitis… test results!
following months of waiting I eventually paid to see a private bowel surgeon. Worth every penny. She organised tests through NHS. Won’t bore with details- but I have a dysfunctional opioid bowel ( due to severe back problems). A large rectocele & possibly a cystocele I’m having a transit study…

Common drug restores youthful function to clean up aging brains
A drug used to induce labor in pregnant women has been shown to reactivate tiny waste-clearing pumps in the brains of old mice.
The finding could hold promise as a new way to fight Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases and overall cognitive decline.

Feels like torn muscle at 2mg of pred
Hello forum friends, I have had PMR for 2 and a half years, I am now 53 years old and am moderately active. I have been on the journey of ‘dead slow’ tapering from 2.5mg to 2mg over the last 4 weeks. I currently feel like I have a torn muscle in the top of my right arm. I don’t think I did anything

Subchorionic Haematoma at 6 weeks
Hi all!I started having minor cramping and moderate bleeding yesterday evening, which carried on through the night. I went to A&E, they referred me to gynaecology and then the early pregnancy unit so I was able to have a scan. The scan showed a heartbeat! But it also showed a 3x3cm subchorionic haematoma

perseveration
hi following my fiancés accident in 2022, where he was diagnosed with TBI and came out of a disorder of conciousness October 2023, he has been progressing on his physical and mental capabilities. Whilst that is still ongoing, one thing that he really struggles with and is causing a barrier is his perseveration
