I was first diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2001 I had a mastectomy with reconstructive surgery followed by chemo and radiation. Following that I was put on Tamoxifen Arimidex and Taxol. After being off for 5 years last year in 2022 I was diagnosed in the other breast with cancer. I had surgery and a implant put in place. I am on Ibrance and Fulvestrant. I have pain in my left hip and it runs along the front and back of my thigh. I still work and stay active with my family and friends.

Welcome chancemiracle. I'm sorry that you have had to deal with cancer in both breasts. I can't tell from your post as you mention hip pain etc but I'm not sure if you have been diagnosed with MBC which is what this board is geared towards. Metastatic breast cancer (advanced breast cancer or Stage IV breast cancer) is cancer that’s spread from your breast to other areas of your body like bones or vital organs such as lung, liver etc.

I hope that you haven't had spread elsewhere and that your surgeries were curative. It's good that you are still active and working and Ibrance is a wonderful drug. I was diagnosed with MBC De Nova(no previous history of cancer) in 2018 and am still going strong and planning on fighting this as long as I can. Please let us know more about yourself so the group here can support you better. If you do not have metastatic cancer then there are some great general breast cancer support groups that you might find more beneficial. Living with MBC comes with many challenges and a different mindset than those people who are diagnosed in other stages. Take care.

So sorry that your cancer returned, after you seemed healed and reconstructed. When I was diagnosed with metastatic in my bones and liver 2 yrs after my double mastectomy with reconstruction I was crushed😢

I agree that perhaps you need some scans to determine just what is happening .

Prayers and well wishes that things will improve for you ❤️

Welcome! Scans would be a good idea. I was stage 3 originally, but 4 1/2 years later in other breast and mbc. I thought I was done with the damn cancer.

14 years I had a superclavicle note turns out to be cancer

metastatic breast cancer after a double mastectomy, chemotherapy and tamoxifen really devastating to have metastatic breast cancer. I had radiation just had my petscan and I’ll get you know what is going on I’m on Verzinio and arimidex right now still working and being as active as I can be, but it was just took the wind out of my sails. I worked on my attitude although today, I just don’t seem to be as positive. I’ll be happy when I get the results of his pet scan to see if the radiation worked although the reality is, there’s no cure and it’s treatable. It really pisses me off.
