Tamoxifen

Have been on tamoxifen for 6 years after mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy. I've still not had my 5th year follow up with the oncologist, when I call them they just say “sorry no capacity”.

I have been on tamoxifen for 7 and a half years now but for some reason for the last 4-5 years I get lots of UTI’s which are unpleasant and painful.

I asked my MO about using transdermal tamoxifen along with the estradiol to reduce the gynecomastia. She said she did not know if the topical gel would provide the same benefit as oral tamoxifen and could not find safety data regarding the side effects of compounded formulations.

I have a question for tamoxifen users. Not a big deal but I am curious. I am 76 and have been on tamoxifen for a year and a half. I have gray hair - quite long. The hair is thinning but my curiosity is about my hair darkening. It is turning a dark brunette. Just seems kind of weird.

Seen tthe Oncologist My lump has grown it's now 22mm so the tamoxifen wasn't doing its work. So we are going to try another drug called anastrozole, for two months then back to the Oncologist to see if it worked if it hasn't then look at other options. The tamoxifen has been stopped.

Am 55 started Tamoxifen a month ago - how are you coping with hot flushes and sexual dysfunctions ? Thanks

Oncologist is recommending Capeciabine plus tamoxifen Anyone else have knowledge on this and are there alternatives out there? Many thanks

I was hoping I was done with treatment, but was told I need to take tamoxifen. I read a lot of horrible stories about the side effects tamoxifen caused.

I’ve used Faslodex, Tamoxifen, Letrozole. I’m assuming those are all estrogen blockers. I get confused between taking two drugs at once. Thanks for any insight.

Has anyone considered/actually got clomid or tamoxifen out of desperation from a source other than a clinic? and if you did, did it work and did you have any ill affects from it? I know all the risks of buying online but I just wondered if anyone has done it?

If so it could mean Surgery Radiotherapy or drugs, if its shrinking to stay on Tamoxifen and he would see me in months. So I'm just waiting for appointments at the moment Gordon (Redier)

Then put on Tamoxifen. All well for a while then relapse so back on chemo and then on a drug targeted therapy called Rubraca, that's the short name for it. Was on and off it because of various things to do with my blood's but it was working until I got a bowel obstruction.

After the op I had 6 rounds of TAC chemo which included the red devil and had steroids then ten years of tamoxifen then letrozole hormone tablets. A few years ago I had a dexi scan and thought nothing of it. However my GP has recently referred me for another one to investigate oesteoporosis.

She will start on Verzenio and tamoxifen tomorrow. This will be her fourth line of treatment. The Canadian government doesn’t cover this as a later line of treatment but I have read about some small studies that have shown it can be effective.

We were then a month before hols, my doctor said till I have symptoms we do nothing just switched me from Niraparib to tamoxifen and figured we wait and see for symptoms.

hi I have been taking tamoxifen 20mg for three and half months and I now have tinnitus and amplified hearing problems. My ears feel like I’m under water and need popping like on an aeroplane. Can anybody relate or heard of this? Thanks

So anxious :( Last week my oncologist mentioned as possible switch from Niraparib to Tamoxifen (hormonal therapy), which I know is mainly used for breast cancer to stop hormone production. He said it could help 15% patients. Wonder if anyone has experience with this ?

I’m also on Tamoxifen for breast cancer but may switch to Raloxifene which could help a little.
