10 year survival!

Upon waking today I found this beautiful bouquet of roses in the kitchen along with a beautiful note from my husband. It’s been 10 years of MBC and still here! At the beginning I thought 10 years would be a good run, but I want more! I am grateful and wish the very best for everyone here! These are for all of us!❤️

Congratulations from the heart! Where do you have metastases, and has there been any progression in those 10 years? What is your Ki-67?

Thank you! Mostly in my bones. It was very extensive at my first diagnosis. I also have lobular and that has shown up twice in my stomach. Otherwise, most of the progression has been in the bones. I have changed treatments 3 times due to progression. They caught most of the progressions early except in my stomach. I don’t know what Ki-67 is, sorry.

Ki-67 is a protein that is expressed in dividing cells. In breast cancer, Ki-67 levels can be used as a prognostic marker to assess the aggressiveness of the tumor and predict its behavior. (I looked it up, coz I didn't know what it was either 😜) Congratulations Nocillo and congratulate your husband too, he sounds like a wonderful caregiver.

Thank you so much for sharing. I love this. I was diagnosed almost 3 years ago this month and I hope to celebrate many more. I also have lobular cancer and with each scan I pray for everything to continue to be stable, but also if there is progression that it will show up in the scan. Nocillo, I love that! I also have lobular MBC and the initial biopsy indicated very aggressive cancer cells. It has been nearly 9 years and my medication has not been changed because my scans have not shown progression. However, letrozole and Ibrance do play havoc with my joints, muscles and tendons.

Life is great! Enjoy another 10 years!
