Truqap is working!

jersey-jazz profile image
40 Replies

The Pet scan endured on Monday 4/7/25 shoes all cancers either stopped in their tracks or receding! Most of them are shrinking. It is hard to believe after the steady advance of this monster. I am writing about the health monster, not the political one.

The down side and becoming critical is that in a week to ten days, I've lost another six pounds and have nothing left in the energy department. I now weigh eighty one pounds.

Still I am elated by the magic of Truqap (plus Faslodex).

Fabulous news! I hope it continues to work well for you for a long time. You are very much a light weight.....do you drink nutritional supplements to boost your caloric intake. If you haven't already it might be a good idea to get a consult with a dietician. They are available easily at most cancer centers. It's no wonder you have no energy. Stay strong and take care.

,

Thank you for the good wishes and recommendation. Yes, I try to drink store bought nutritional shakes. Almost all of them are way too sweet for me. The one that I can tolorate up to a point is Kate Farms' coffee flavored.

So happy for you! I would gladly send you 10 lbs or so extra that I have if it was possible!

A year and a half ago, I weighed over 130 lbs and was taller. I have shrunk down but that doesn.t worry me. It is the rapid and dramatic weight loss coupled with the severe exhaustion that does. Nevertheless, My happiness at the PET scan results covers everything! Thank you for your good wishes.

Congratulations !!!Happy for you that your treatment is successfully attacking the cancer!!!

With the weight loss ....have you tried meal replacement drinks? There's a brand called Complan in Europe/UK...not sure if it's available in the US...it helps to up the calorie intake and is quite easy on the gut....comes in various flavours...it's a thick shake sort of thing with added vitamins etc.

Best wishes

Mazel Tov for the greattttttt news. Perhaps your appetite will come back a tad replacing anxiety. THIS is wonderful.

jersey-jazz in reply toBorisCarloff

Dear BorisCarloff------You may have a point there. Now that I see a brighter future for me or at least a longer one, my mind s turning to the problem of losing another six lbs in exactly seven days bringing the number down to eighty one. Interestingly, my appetite has increased and I will be making potatoes and a pea omelet very soon, if I can get the energy up, and I am looking forward to that. Thanks for the Mozel Tov! The same to you!

Hi! Congrats on the great pet scan results! Have you tried any cbd or even cannabis gummies for your appetite? You would only need a little bit to make you feel hungry. Just a thought as it works for me. Wishing you all the best ❤️

What wonderful news about your PET scan results. I’m glad the Truqap is working for you. I’ve enjoyed being on this treatment and find the side effects manageable. I just had scans done last Friday. I’ll see the oncologist is a couple of weeks to find out the results. After 8 years with MBC, I finally learned it to read the scan reports until the day of my appointment. So happy for you, Jersey-Jazz!

such great news to hear that it is working! I am wondering if it could be my next option after ibrance and exmestane. my signatera blood results are showing progression. Scans next week. I do have the Pik3A mutation and feel like this could be the next line if necessary. Is this your second line of treatment?

jersey-jazz profile image
jersey-jazz in reply toGardengirl345

If you do get to go on Truqap, I hope that you have as successful a turn of events as I have. I too have that mutation. I had the pills for almost a year before the Dr allowed me to start.

Why did he have you wait almost a year?

you must be so happy and RELIEVED! That is the goal of MBC ladies (and men). The weightloss can be concerning so make sure you up your calories with calorie dense nutritious foods. Eat often if necessary… also, if you live where medical marijuana is allowed, consider that option to stimulate appetite. Your ONC can also help with appetite stimulants. Best wishes for a long, long journey.

You are so kind. I tried weed in drop form. It made me feeling so out of control that I stopped it immediately. I may try it again in another form. Thank you for the good wishes!

I'm so happy for your good news. Hope this treatment works for a long time. I'm sorry about your weight loss though. You might want to think about asking your oncologist if they have a nutritionist on staff to help you pick healthy fat containing foods that can add some weight on. Sending you hugs and prayers.

Thanks for reminding me. "Nutritionist" has gone on today's list.
