I think every time I've tried to give up I've had different symptoms. I've been looking at my posts 2 years ago (prev attempt) I had a terrible cough that eventually went away.
This time I've just had a bad bout of a cold that went on for weeks. It developed into a wrenching cough but it's getting better now. Just phlegm now.
Whilst I had the cold I was due to have an operation. Turned up at the hospital, had my premeds, wheeled down to theatre, needle going in hand .. And then I started coughing. Anaesthetist then said this is not happening today.
I got the "are you a smoker" & "how many do you smoke".
That did it for me.
Wow, what a let down.
So I've had to cancel again since then as the cough lingered.
Now due to go again on 9th, but at least I can say I'm a non smoker.
Sorry for rambling on, just trying to take my mind off the fags. Mornings are my worst.
Day 6 today. Everyday it gets easier, that's what I tell myself.

I've had a bit of coughing this time but last time I gave up my cough was horrendous and went on for weeks. I ended up going to the doctors who said its because I'd stopped smoking. However, I came away with antibiotics and they really sorted it out.
So if you are worried about it get it checked out.
