I did it! I quit smoking the day before Christmas Eve! That was my Christmas present to myself......I am the only one who could give me this present!
100% right Winded. Your quitting is also a gift that you shouldn't give to others. Whatever your reason for quitting, it must be for yourself & not to please ( or appease) others.
Hiya Roneo, lovely to see ya and your 9 month winners badge, woo hoo I'm luvin it and you tooππ
Wishing you a very happy and healthy New Yearπππ
Whooohooooo roneo well done on that lovely shiny new 9 months badge πππππ
It suits you sir ππ
How you been diddling hun, still doing all the golf? Mowing? And that other thing that I can't pronounce ππ
G'day Droopy. I think you're right. That badge does look pretty smick! I have been flat chat working around the homelately. Golf has never been better, though I have had to scale back while I am being treated for skin cancers on my face. (no biggie, mainly precautionary) I have been going room by room trying to cull unused clothes, appliances, manchester. It's so difficult to part with useful stuff simply because you haven't had a need for it for 5-10 years or so. Do you know anyone who could use a safari suit circa 1980 in as new condition
Aup Roneo, its great to see ya pal and doing so well too Gosh, it sounds like you've been right busy
Yeah, that badge does look rather smick eh even though I shinnedededed it up myself which brings me around to the - safari suit - ermmm, just wandering if it would help me when am a yomping over them fields and in the woods catching Winner badges

Happy New Year to you Roneo
Lmao..... Who did ya think you were Roneo?? Daktari? Lolπππ
Erm clothes, appliances and Manchester?????
It's great that you are doing so well (apart from the skin cancer....π That's a bit of a bummer but they are far more prepared for it in aus than they are over here.... Personal experience π)
A clear out is good for the soul
Lovely manπππππππ
I'll have you know Droopy, that safari suits were very fashionable down under in the late seventies. Unfortunately, I was a little slow to catch on & bought mine just when they were on the way out, hence the "as new" condition. As for the rest of the clean out, I'm making room for my soon to be bride. I had accumulated 8 double bed blankets & several sheet sets, all inadequate for my queen size bed. Appliances....toasters, sausage makers (?), omelet & crepe makers, egg poachers, a kenwood chef that weighs 1/2 a ton & on the list goes. All in good working order & unused for the past 5-15 years. . apart from anything else the clean out has been quite cathartic & symbolic with throwing out the old ways, habits etc & replacing them with healthy new ones. I think it has even reinforced my quitting.
Errrrr soon to be bride ? ? ? Oh nooooo I thought I was the oneπ’ is my Romeo lost to anotherπ±
Oh dear Briar, I feel like a REAL cad. It just became soooo difficult choosing between you & Droopy, Ihad to find a third option. I did allude to a significant "other" a few months back who helped me over my last depressive episode. She HATES cigarette smoke which has significantly negated the possibility of me relapsing.
It's Ok Roneo, I'll get over it eventuallyπ
In the meantime I'm absolutely delighted for ya, CONGRATULATIONS lovely manπ
Sooo happy that I'm sending you both lots of love and don't forget to send my invitationπ My very best wishes are coming your way and I still luv ya to bitsππ
wow Roneo, when trying to stay quit most people chuck out the ashtrays, you have taken it to a new level and are getting married ππππ can't say I'm not disappointed especially after I heard you had a as good as new safari suit....... But am delighted for you .... Whoohooo another quit support weddingπππππππ
As to the suit, you reminded me that back in the 90's I was going on a date and was waiting outside the tube, when this vision turned up wearing a starsky & hutch cardigan.... Bout 5years too late.... Hence it was our only date ππ
Well done winded, nearly your 1st week over and I'm so glad ya gave yourself this present, wishing you a very happy and healthy New Year as a non smokerππΌππΌ
Thank you~I am kinda proud of myself. I say "kinda" because I had to use the Chantix. I was told by the pharmacist it would take 10 weeks for the Chantix to kick in and the receptors in my brain to "turn around" as they have been dependent upon the nicotine to produce the dopamine (pleasure center) in my brain.
I marked the 10th week on the calendar as December 23. And, oddly I woke up on the 23rd and I was a quitter! (I must have planted the suggestion in my brain, but it worked!)! And, that's the important thing...
I have to, now, be weaned from the Chantix so the cravings do not come back in full force. So, I am not "out-of-the-woods, just yet.
Whooohoooo winded loving that 1 week badgeππ
HAPPY NEW YEAR Droopy
