Good morning Jilly and everyone. Greetings from a wet and windy south coast (just for a change! )
Healthy eating! Well, I'm back on it at the mo - keeping my food diary of everything (yes, EVERYTHING) that passes my lips. I seem to have put all that weight back on during my travels which I spent half the year getting off. I found a deal on the computer to kick start the new year and am nearly half way through now. It involves 3 personal training sessions a week and I'm getting weighed each visit and monitored on my food diary. I'll have to be soooo good next time I go away cos I really do need a new wardrobe of clothes and I'm NOT buying them in a bigger size.
Have a good day, don't let the demons get you - see you later.
Grey and raining here in kent .... hmmm health food tips, if you can eat celery then you should, it takes more calories eating it and digesting it than the stick has in it....also pineapple after every meal.....heats up in your tummy and helps your food digest quicker ( so i am told ) x
Good morning everyone, I really need to get into the habit of looking out the window when I get up. The weather is.. no idea. It's not raining or hailing because I would hear that I guess. Keeping a food diary is great Andi22! I kept one for a long time, had it connected to my phone so I could scan food labels and count calories the lazy way. I lost 4 stone working out and counting calories
My tip for healthy eating- learn what the correct portion sizes are for your gender. It's quite an eye-opener.
another spring-like day today. I reckon it won't be too long before I'm able to spot little duckings on the park when I take that Eva-puppy dog of mine for a walk
A healthy eating tip and contribution towards weight loss would be a macaroni hotpot - Lots of speed foods (if Slimming World hasn't changed since I was last familiar with it) Peppers, onions, garlic, tinned tomatoes oh and macaroni - all chucked into a pan - cooked and then eaten. This is delicious hot or cold and is quite simple as well as filling. You could even add in mushrooms too
I think portion control is the most important factor. We tend to eat mammoth portions. I normally stop eating when I feel full as I guess that is my bodies way of saying. I dont need anything else. Drinking plenty of water helps too & and I've heard that foods rich in vitimin C or Supplements are beneficial to ex smokers. Drinking plenty of water too Having said all that.... I've just eaten 2 Sausage Rolls and a Ham Salad Roll (Blush)
Hi Folks,
Actually there's a Weight Loss community on healthunlocked, so you might like to look over there for information and support. (Lots of good advice on the NHS live well lose weight pages too - all for free)
Though you might prefer to address quitting the smoking first before launching into a weight loss programme - you don't want to put too much pressure on yourselves.
Jilly my treasure, i was keeping the birthday under wraps until it was nearly done, I'm getting on now !!!! PLEASE don't apologise, it was a day just like any other except I got PRESENTS !!!
As Doikosp says, don't put too much pressure on yourselves in trying to deal with stopping smoking as well as dealing with losing weight. However, planning your meals and being aware of the food that you eat will help
Ahhhhhhhh, now I know why my huggs dont reach you, cos you think am a flippin Vamp
Huh, typical flippin Woman hmmmm, Ryvita thins, ave got some of them in my garage, I call it sandpaper !! mind you, have never tried it with Houmous and Garlic
Am sending huggs with garlic in then tonight H, soooooo, perhaps they will reach you eh xx
I'm a big fan of homemade soups and stews. I always have a pot on the stove. The soups are so low calorie and fat that I can dip in and put of them when I feel peckish
