I had a very painful endometrial biopsy 5 days ago. The next two days I had barely any spotting but immense pain requiring opioid pain killers. The pain continued the next day with no spotting at all. Now, with pain continuing, I’m experiencing period-like bleeding 5 days post-procedure (I’m on “no break” birth control so it’s not my period). From what I was told, I should only have light spotting the first day or so.
Anyone have similar experience or advice? I’ll be contacting my GYN Monday but freaking out a little.

Hi Lotax, I was wondering how you are doing? I had an endometrial biopsy 10 days ago for post menopausal bleeding and waiting to hear results. I went into menopause at 46. It was painful during the procedure and for a while after - heavy cramping. My uterine lining was 6mm, and it is a tad thicker than expected. Uterine cancer is my fear but if this is the case, I hope I it was caught early. Anyway, I hope you are well and got answers for yourself. Best,
Thank you so much for your reply! I’m still bleeding on and off 3 weeks post-procedure so I’m being put on a double dose of birth control (taking in AM and PM) in hopes to control the constant spotting and bleeding. And the pain continues- to the point where I’m on a narcotic painkiller every six hours. The doc suspects that my endometriosis is so bad that any disruption in the area will cause major inflammation and bleeding. Luckily my biopsy results were benign. My lining was thin (3mm) but I had calcifications they were worried about. I’m waiting to be scheduled for endometriosis excision surgery in the next month or so. So over this pain!
I hope you have received good news by now! I will be sending positive vibes your way. 💕
I couldn't wait any more and called the Dr office. Fortunately, the cells were benign and I was so relieved. I guess it was a random period, but scared me and is abnormal. I guess it's better to get it tested than just not knowing what's going on. I hope you are able to get some relief and answers. Hugs to you! 🤗💞
