Hi I just wonted to give you a update I am smoke free for 5 days I been using champix (uk name) I had a few side effects the worst is vivid dreams I had a dream my parents died and it was like is it real. Other then that it dose get easier. My best advice is to stick with the champix it’s so much easier for me to stop smoking then going cold turkey if we read the side effects off paracetamol would we take them ? Stay strong 💪🏻 my first pay check smoke free I am going to put down a deposit for a relaxing holiday and will be something to look forward to. Xx
Day 5 champix review : Hi I just wonted to... - No Smoking Day
Day 5 champix review
I’m a week smoke free on champix, no side effects just vivid dreams, luckily the dreams are good.
Champix really is amazing
Well done on your quit, keep it up x
Well done. I’ll be 2 years smoke free in July. Champix gave me the worst dreams ever. Also horrible nausea but I persevered and did the 12 week course. Definitely worth it. Enjoy that holiday. You deserve it 👍🏼
Your doing absolutely great, well done. This is my second attempt with Champix. First time stopped for six and a half months are stupidly took one puff and I was back there. Saturday is my quit date so let’s hope I have learned something.
So pleased you are finding Champix ok as many people have bad side effects so you are lucky like me. I have vivid dreams but fortunately they are nice ones and last time I hated coming off the Champix as I missed them.
Just concentrate at one day at a time you you have got this.
All good wishes.
Hi 2217 thanks for you kind words this is my second time on champix I did some thing similar to you after 6 months I went out with friends and had a crafty drag and the next day. I went to the store and bought 20 and it was like I never stopped. Silly really I did not enjoy the drag but little did I know a drag is all it takes. Not this time my mentality now is not even one drag.
Keep me updated on here with you progress and I am sure you will do fine good wishes to you to. 😀 and here is to a better life with out cigarettes.
You deserve it. Enjoy.
Well done Jkh001 and keep going. I love the analogy you give between paracetamol and champix.
I hope you don't succumb into taking another "crafty drag" again, but I can really understand the temptation. I am 3 months smoke free today and I have been off champix for a week. I am not sure if I miss the actual chemical help champix has given me since deciding to quit, or I am just missing "champix the mental crutch". Either way, I am missing it's help, but I will continue with my efforts to be strong and take one day at a time.
I am struggling today, but I have read that I am on the final stage of the "icky threes". I really hope these feelings of mental withdrawal don't last.
Once again, well done jkh001. Onwards and Upwards to us all!
PS: My header says that I am 50 days smoke free, but I quit at 5 minutes before midnight on 24 February 2019 (my daughters birthday) so I am 3 months ...not 50 days smoke free.
Welcome Jkh001 - congratulations on 21 days smoke free now! Good to read Champix is working well for you.
Looking forward to reading your progress
