Half dose of Champix

Hi all

Yesterday was my day 4 without fags and it was day 9 on champix but by accident I've only had one champix tablet on day 8 and 9.... Bless my hubby. I've been stressed out and he's been giving my tablets to me and didn't get that it was still one in the morning and one at night πŸ˜†. Now that I've realized I'm wondering whether to stay on the half dose as I'm feeling really good without the fags and although I've had a couple of cravings its been very manageable. Thoughts???

MissC..... welcome....I think there is no need to worry....as long as it works for you continue on half dose....Even on full dose I had my cravings in the beginning....

If you feel good and feel you can cope...what a plesure..without the morning Nausia..!

Stay strong..!

I’m not too familiar with how champix works but it sounds like it’s a time release nicotine blocker. I would give your doctor a call and discuss how the drug is supposed to work and if it makes the drug less effective to take it only once a day. If it works like NRT then I would ask about only taking it during the window of the day that I smoked the most, because that would help break the habit form of the addiction better. Good luck!

Thanks all. Day 5 done. Yep. I'll see how it goes on the half dose. Have to say I'm feeling good to be sweet smelling and able breathe a bit more freely. Getting my body and mind back.

I'm doing great thanks Roisin01! Getting my sense of smell back and breathing so much easier. Must admit I had some milestone cravings yesterday but they didn't really stand a chance. I'm staying free of that awful drug forever xxxxx Maybe I will treat myself..... 😊
