I walked past "a Smoker" yesterday and I smelled the smoke and man I still crave it but smelling a smoker makes me feel sick . Can anyone enlighten me as to why that is ?

Hi Dodo777 same with me i love the smell still but hate it on a smoker

I really don't know. I hear all the time that ex- smokers don't like the smell but for me I don't mind other than it makes me crave one. I do notice a smell when someone walks by me indoors, I find it hard to believe I once smelled like that.

I don't like the smell, but I agree that I find myself thinking, I smelled just like that!!! For me, it stinks to just smell it on a person but if someone is smoking and i catch the smoke, then it makes me desire a cigarette but I do not want to ever take another puff...I was a slave to those cancer sticks!

Hello Dodo777 , haven't heard from you for ages, glad you're still going strong.

I think we just retain a memory of what smoking was like when we did it every day (pleasurable) but after all this time we react to the smoke as a non smoker would. I know my first cigarette made me feel rotten but I persevered....and look where that got me!

Anyway, that's my theory.

All the chemicals that the tobacco co. puts in smokes to mask the smell and the site of the smoke . This is good all that crap is leaving your system Your on a roll keep going .those same chemicals alter your thinking to make you think smoking is ok .

Quite a lot of non-smokers, people who have never smoked, say that the smell of cigarette smoke makes them feel sick. (Why not ask a few people, and see what they say).

I would guess that for quite a lot of people it is perfectly normal to find the smell of smoke disgusting - so no explanation is necessary!

What it means is: You are a non-smoker, congratulations!
