I just had my first DBT session today. I am super excited! I am looking forward to seeing some results within time, in hopes that I can start managing the Borderline Personality Disorder. So that I can balance all of my disorders to have a healthy lifestyle that includes college, friendships, and hopefully dating in the future among goals. Has anyone else tried dialectical behavior therapy ?

Congratulations xxx There first session of any form of DBT / CBT / Talking Therapy is the hardest. I haven't done DBT but I did complete STEPPS and found it most helpful in learning about the negative filters, triggers and positive filters; how to recognise and deal with them; strategies and problem solving. It was a very tough 26 weeks but was well worth it. I wish you all the best with your DBT and hope you get everything you need from it to be able to go forward with you life journey xxx
Thank you
That's so good that you have had your first session and even better that you are feeling so positive.
Thank you. I was having missed feelings and thoughts about some activities and discussions but overall it was what I expected. I am going to stick it out and remain positive ππΎ
Glad it went well for you. I wanted DBT but ended up with EMDR instead!
Whatβs EMDR? & Did you find it effective for you?
