I don't know what to do!

Hi.

I am a 66 year old male, British citizen, living in Thailand.

I have no family or friends.

I am suffering with with anxiety issues, undiagnosed, varying from depression, to possible bipolar 1 or 2. The local Thai psychiatrist has, over many years, prescribed me with SSRI and SNRI, all of which have not helped, and 1 time I developed Stephen Johnson syndrome, which nearly killed me. He has declared that I have an allergy, or none responsive, to any SSRI or SNRI.

I am in a very desperate state.

My money has almost run out, so home health care is not affordable for me in Thailand.

2 years ago I became a chronic alcoholic, which has ended up with me with peripheral neuropathy, so I can barely walk!

I used up what remaining money I had, to attend an alcoholism rehabilitation centre in Thailand, but it has not really helped much!

I did return, very briefly to the UK, and discussed my mental health, and alcoholism issues, but my local GP, and the NHS, and local council just threw me out!

They put me on an 18 month waiting list!

They advised me to live rough on the streets!

No tv or Internet access!

I am partially disabled due to peripheral neuropathy, and I have no financial support, apart from my very meagre UK pension.

I have tried very hard to follow the HARM program from the alcoholism rehabilitation centre in Thailand, but I can hardly get up in the morning to even take a shower.

I have just about enough money for a flight to the UK, but what is the point of that when there is zero support from the local council or the NHS!

The CAB have also advised me to just live rough on the streets!

HELP!

Is your Brit pension enough to safely support yourself in Thailand? Getting off booze is hard work, but you never know when a break through may come. You just need a bit of support somehow. So coming here and sharing how you are feeling regularly is a good plan. Took me years and a wasted life to get off booze and drugs, but it happened. A decent local girl might help you refocus. Tough ask when skint, but just a thought. Keep in touch and update us on your progress and feelings. Anything can happen in this life

Sorry to hear all you're going through. I think your best bet is to remain in UK, and keep trying whatever options there are, here. Stay pestering them until they give you the help and support you need. Don't just give up in one try. You are a citizen!

I'm not sure how better off you may be staying in Thailand with all the issues you have, but you probably know better.

Like someone mentioned already, religious organisations could also be of massive help.

Stay pushing. Tomorrow always has a potential to be better.

Much love and peace to you brother🙏

I presume you are talking about a private pension as the current age for a state pension in the UK is 66 ie your age now. Have you applied for it yet? I don't think there is a an arrangement for a full state pension which will probably be less but it would be more money.

If you returned to the UK you would be entitled to the minimum income for a single state pensioner which is set at around £215 a week. I presume you don't full stamps so it would be made up to that by pension credits which you would claim separately.

You would not only get that but housing benefit too up to the full amount of your rent allowed but you might have to pay a small top up.

I don't know if you are aware of the housing situation in the UK now but its dire and anyone can wait years on the waiting lists. Your best bet would be to rent privately at first though I believe the council has a legal obligation to house those of state pension age and/or diagnosed health problems. This would probably only be a room somewhere. You would need some money behind you to rent privately and keep yourself until your pension details are sorted.

My advice is first to claim your state pension by ringing the DWP, and second to contact the council you last lived under to claim housing. Even if that's not where you want to live as other councils wouldn't consider you.

I don’t know you. You don’t know me, but that doesn’t matter. I am praying to the creator of earth that good will come to you. You are strong though you have been beaten down you are a valuable human being and there’s only one way to go up and that’s up. I know you don’t have money or Internet and I just can’t imagine trying to survive like that but I do know the only thing that saved my sanity and life was a program that’s on YouTube on the Internet he is called Tim Fletcher. He is a therapist who knows what really wrong with our minds and it’s called complex STPD and if at any time you can get the Internet and be able to listen to this man he can help you if you are able to get the Internet so once again, my prayers are that you get the most important help you need and that you don’t give up . I am be your friend☮️
