I was having trouble urinating, a little twinge of pain like when you’re driving long time then really gotta go! Doc gave me antibiotics for possible UTI, didn’t help. Then he did Swab to identify what if any bacteria was there it came back negative. Ultrasound and another dye injection test showed constriction of the bladder neck, could have been from falling on bike bar, getting kicked during sports , or possibly hereditary.
Anyway my bladder had lost all elasticity and so I was backed up. Doc inserted catheter in the office And drained out 1.5 liters in the office. I wore a bag for 3 weeks.
Then I did self catheter every 4 hours for a month. Yup 6x a day.
Finally had surgery to clear out the suspected scar tissue and I’ve been fine for 30 years. Basically if I hadn’t had this taken care of the doc said I would have been on dialysis or lost kidney function and would have required a kidney transplant. Cudos to my great urologist.
