I have a pre-existing condition of severe underlying degenerative spinal disease.
This is posted on my medical records – I had an operation of my neck to remove a benign tumour and after 7 days was rushed back into A & E with a paralysis in my legs & arms and was unable to walk, my bowels and bladder shut down.
After 2 weeks in hospital, I was able to walk with an aid, my bowel function returned and with 8 weeks my catheter was removed and my bladder returned to function.
I am still partially paralysed and am told the trauma I experienced had nothing to do with the operation it was a spontaneous event which would have happened at some point because of my pre-existing condition.
I maintain during intubation my neck was hyperextended.
If spinal stenosis is a progressive disease why, did I recover for the initial trauma.
Is there anybody out there who has experienced a similar problem – please email ga@comst.co.uk
