8 months Post Circumcisions, Update on Hypersensitivity and Overall Changes
Few months ago I made a post regarding extreme hypersensitivity post cut. When I logged in today, I found many messages who had same concern and want advice.
Since I won't be able to reply all of them individually, I thought why not make a post and let everyone know.
I will summarize my whole healing process/journey below, it can be a long read so take some time off.
I got cut back in October through ZSR, my ring took quite some time to fall 35 days to be exact.
I had severe phimosis and I wasn't able to stretch my foreskin even when flaccid.
It was too tight, and glans was already very very sensitive.
After my ring dropped, I had same level of hypersensitivity as before. Somehow it was really unbearable, and it took me quite some time to wear underwear directly.
I was in depression as I had trouble walking and it hurt badly when I bend. At some point, I was feeling like a disabled person thinking I won't ever heal from this.
But as they say, time heals almost everything.
In order to reduce hypersensitivity I followed few steps -
For safer side, do this after your ring is dropped or your stitches/wound is healed up (2-4weeks).
Imo, first week is very crucial in healing process. Take proper guidance of doctor and take good amount of rest.
Post op, you may face very stinging sensitivity and might not able to touch your glans directly.
You can use a cotton cap and gauze and tape it up before wearing underwear. It will minimize discomfort.
Try to keep penis upright most of the time to avoid swelling.
REDUCING HYPERSENSITIVITY -
Dip it in water, try to pour water on it slowly and then from a height till the point it doesn't hurt.
Try to touch it more, ofcourse it will hurt initially so you can use coconut oil and massage it slightly for 20-30 mins twice daily. Do not keep it oiled for long as it reduces the speed of keratanization. Wash it off after few mins/hours.
If possible, leave it open and stay naked and air it out. You can use blower/dryer as well.
Take Vitamin E and B complex supplements.
Apply some dusting powder/normal talc to keep it dry.
Use lignocaine spray, it will numb it for few hours. It was a savior in my case specially when changing dressing/gauze.
The dryer it gets, the less sensitive it becomes.
In some cases, it takes quite a lot of time and you have to remain patient.
Remember, exposed glans is a membrane and there are thousands of nerve endings. Your tool was in a shell (in case of phimosis) and all of sudden its exposed, it takes time for nerves to adapt and adjust.
After few weeks/months, your glans will get toughened/hard and develop a keratin layer to counter the friction.
Once keratanized, it will gradually reduce sensitivity and normal touch of fabric/skin won't give you a shock.
TIP/Meatus took most amount of time, when it drags in underwear, it gave me really painful shock.
USE a good quality underwear. I used JOCKEY and VAN HEUSEN brand.
Despite doing everything, there will be a point where you have to Toughen up and be a MAN and endure pain for few more weeks by wearing underwear directly without any padding/covering.
COUNTERING NIGHT ERECTIONS -
When it happened, I would grab an ice pack and hold it through a towel to bring the erection down quickly, it was pretty effective. Try to pee before you sleep. I also found that trying to avoid drinking in the evening a few hours before sleep made a difference, as a full bladder can trigger nocturnal erections.
Avoid consuming anything explicit and do not indulge in any activity for 6-8 weeks.
SWELLING-
One benefit of ZSR is minimal swelling, I didn't face any swelling after OP but after a month or so when I masturbated, it did swelled up a little. It got okay after a day or two.
MASTURBATION Experience -
It was very weird, didn't enjoyed it much.
But as time passes, it got better and I got used to it.
LUBE is your best friend now, use any good quality lube which can be washed off easily and won't leave greasy/oily post usage.
You can use oil as well but LUBE is way better as it's easy to wash.
SHOULD YOU GET CIRCUMCISED?
IF you have phimosis, it's the only permanent solution. My recommendation is to do it during your early years and don't wait. It's not going to get away on its own.
If you are in early twenties, do it. Our body healing speed reduces as we age, if you are diagnosed, just make it quick.
IF you don't have any medical condition then its your personal choice. IMHO, I would have never got cut if I didn't have phimosis.
You know, each part of our body has specific function unless its not giving any problem, just don't alter it.
Your foreskin is there to protect, but chopping it off without any stern reason is pure BS.
P.S. -
I was not able to walk normally for months, hell even changing sleeping posture was painful when penis drags/touches thighs.
It took me nearly 4 months to wear underwear directly without any discomfort. It was a tough ride for me, might not be same in your case as every body heals at different pace. But in-case, its taking long, don't be depressed and just go with the flow. Time heals everything.
Despite this much time, occasionally I do feel discomfort when the tip gets dragged but its bearable.
Oh yes, some members might suggest to go raw and ditch the gauze post op. I tend to agree with them till some extent, but if your glans is very tender, there is no point to torture it. Let it heal in peace, give it some time.
Post op, try to limit your movement and take ample amount of rest for first week.
Avoid gym/cycling for 4/6 weeks.
