After years of Phimosis I’m now a month in after the op.
Got the discharge from the Urology Consultant yesterday, who informed me that I’m definitely over the worst. My penis does look a look better since my last post and is not as painful.
I’d like to ask couple of questions and also share some advice that may help other guys on here.
First of all, if you’re suffering from Phimosis and have tried the stretching, cream etc without success, my advise is to get the op done ASAP as the longer you leave it the more chance the recovery will take longer.
In my case, parts of the foreskin had actually stuck to the glans over the years I’ve had Phimosis. This has lead to excessive bleeding of my glans post op and massive sensitivity. Get it done guys if you suffering from Phimosis!
Be very careful post op as to how you treat the wound. In my case, I went back to GP several times due to pain and tests for infection. Was given several different antibiotics, even though none of the tests for a infection came back positive.
Worst mistake I made was wrapping my Penis in gauze - GP’s did this also! Gauze sticks and damages the new skin trying to form. I finally found a dressing that worked and it’s been a god send - Telfa Non Adherent Absorbent Dressing, which you can get from hospital or Boots. Using this has enabled me to wear clothes again and get about. It’s also allowed me to get back to work.
First day today I’ve tried to not put any dressing on - just Vaseline as advised by the Consultant.
Can anyone recommend any creams and specific underwear that helps the recovery and the sensitivity of the glans touching your underwear.
Thanks
