30 days in and over the worst?

After years of Phimosis I’m now a month in after the op.

Got the discharge from the Urology Consultant yesterday, who informed me that I’m definitely over the worst. My penis does look a look better since my last post and is not as painful.

I’d like to ask couple of questions and also share some advice that may help other guys on here.

First of all, if you’re suffering from Phimosis and have tried the stretching, cream etc without success, my advise is to get the op done ASAP as the longer you leave it the more chance the recovery will take longer.

In my case, parts of the foreskin had actually stuck to the glans over the years I’ve had Phimosis. This has lead to excessive bleeding of my glans post op and massive sensitivity. Get it done guys if you suffering from Phimosis!

Be very careful post op as to how you treat the wound. In my case, I went back to GP several times due to pain and tests for infection. Was given several different antibiotics, even though none of the tests for a infection came back positive.

Worst mistake I made was wrapping my Penis in gauze - GP’s did this also! Gauze sticks and damages the new skin trying to form. I finally found a dressing that worked and it’s been a god send - Telfa Non Adherent Absorbent Dressing, which you can get from hospital or Boots. Using this has enabled me to wear clothes again and get about. It’s also allowed me to get back to work.

First day today I’ve tried to not put any dressing on - just Vaseline as advised by the Consultant.

Can anyone recommend any creams and specific underwear that helps the recovery and the sensitivity of the glans touching your underwear.

Thanks

I found microfiber underwear to be the most comfortable. I like Calvin Klein microfiber boxers, but you may prefer briefs or boxer-briefs for additional stability and support.

Hi microfibre under £8.00 from Primark pack of 3 there very good there like silk I have this problem very sensertive I am not on vasalene now but put no I oil on 3 times a day hope this helps nice Willy by the way

Good to read your post. I’m 9 days in with similar experience. Surgeon had problems with my foreskin stuck to glans. Actual cut seems ok but glans very scarred uneven and red. Looks bad and very painful. I am showering daily but wondering if I should let’s glans dry out in order for scabs etc to form. I’m feeling really fed up wanted to return to work next week but no hope of that. Most of the pics on this site look fab compared to mine!

I had a month off work in the end. Nightmare! From my experience, at your stage, I’d just bathe it in salted water that has been boiled 3 times a day and keep it as dry as possible. If you’re at home, just wear a dressing gown to let the air get to it. If you need to go out and it’s too painful to wear anything over your glans, wrap up with Telfa Non Adherent Absorbent Dressing. This stuff kept me sane in the end. You’ve another couple of weeks at least until the glans start to heal. It does get better!

Best underwear for recovery is Sheath and Vanjohanwear , check my profile for this i created a post on what to wear during circumcision. Those underwear are a godsend
