Hello, just really need people who understand (MDD) with anxiety. I have had this for twenty years. I was on paxil 20mg but after 15 years thought I didn't need it anymore. What a big mistake. Had severe anxiety and depression it took almost two years to get back on track. But then I did it again did this at least two more times. I had bladder cancer in 2023 but it was noninvasive. But have to be checked all the time. Also have MGUS which I pray to God it stays like that. In 2016 I was diagnosed with Central Sentisiziation syndrome. Which I am having a very bad flareup of it. I did not want to go back on Paxil because of my age 67 it can cause dementia possibly not for sure, I take remeron,wellbutrinxl,Klonopin and just went off Lexapro because it was not working, so now I started effexorxr it's been just 5 days but it was a direct taper. Has anyone had withdrawal symptoms from doing this I was only on 5 mg of Lexapro down from ten then started the Effexor XR just feeling really sick and very anxious I know it can take awhile. I do have a very good therapist. I am trying to put all my faith in Our Lord And Savior. Any comments would so be appreciated. Thank You And God Bless

Hi, I would imagine you may get some withdrawal from the Lexapro for a bit. When you add Effexor you can get pretty horrible side effects for a while. I felt sick and anxious too. starting on them but it does eventually go away and anxiety gets better too. Just a warning it is a strong drug and hard to withdraw from if you ever do. I am on it but I hate it but it's the only one I can take. However some people do very well on it, hopefully you will be one of them.Good luck, give them time to work. If side effects are very bad discuss it with your Dr.
