Effexor XR

So whenever I’m not feeling good even with Effexor XR I run to him to talk to him and ask him for help. I have a large beautiful framed picture of the Lord praying in the garden of Bethsemany. The lord is good he will help you in your darkest hour, believe me I know !

I am 60 with MDD and currently trying to wean off of Effexor XR 150 mg (have been on this for 20 years) and having a horrible time going off. I would have petit mal seizures in the past if off for 48 hours.

I’ve been on Effexor XR for almost 20 years and was in the process of tapering off, but due to these anxiety issues those plans are on hold. I’m not looking for a perfect life; I just want the anxiety to go away. I want to be able to eat normally again. I want my regular sleep pattern back.

I am currently on a combination of Effexor XR (150mg), Lexapro (10mg) and Elavil (25mg) with Ativan on the side as needed. I try to avoid taking the Ativan as much as possible. I've been through four different therapists and three psychiatrists (part of this is because I've moved).

I have being on effexor xr for about 5 years it has helped me very much. But theirs is a down fall , If I don't take with in couple of hours of waking up. I begin to feel sick such running nose, headache, nauseous.

I am currently going through a pretty bad withdrawal from Effexor. I weaned off as my doctor prescribed +3 months I added on just to make sure because I didn’t want to feel like I felt when I missed a dose. Has anyone used Effexor ( venlafaxine ) for hot flashes. MO prescribed Effexor 37.5 mg for dad for hot flashes.
