This is my first post on HU and I am just looking for others who have started medication what works, what hasn't work for people. I have been put on lexapro and zyprexa very recently and was wondering if others had some experience they could share with me about these meds. Also looking for more coping skills to help me when I am in a "crisis". Or just feeling anxios. Any suggestions or feedback would be great. Oh also I was recently diagnosed with MDD as well as GAD. Thank you in advance.🦋🐝

Welcome 😊I was on Lexapro for years and I really liked it, I just ended up maxing out my dosage and it didn't work for me anymore, same with Prozac. I've been on Zoloft & Wellbutrin for not quite a year and they seem to be my personal miracle combo.
As far as coping skills go, my tried and true favorite is deep breathing. I like to inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, and exhale for 6 counts. You can also box breathe (I think that's what it's called) and inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. I like to do 3 cycles of whichever one.
Hi succulent321! I take Zyprexa and have been for many years. It's the only med that keeps my bipolar and depression in check as much as possible and, the only medication that helps me sleep. It will help with anxiety too. Also, I use therapistaid.com for worksheets. It's super helpful. Check it out. Hang in there.
