My lupus has been under control for a while now due to rituximab infusions.
But I have woken up with a lupus rash this morning. Is it possible to have a lupus rash and lupus to still be under control? Or does this mean my lupus is active again? Sorry bit confused/worried.

Hi Sarah, I always have a rash, on chest and face (face to lesser degree), and this has been in periods where my Lupus was described as quiet. Currently in a flare, so my rashes are more prominent atm. If you are concerned, do you have Lupus nurse you could contact, or seek opinion from a GP?
Thank you for your reply. Yes I have a lupus nurse I can get in touch with but I never like to bother them especially if it isn’t anything. I might give it a few days and see if it improves
My rash on my face always makes an appearance even when I’m having a good day... it used to be the first sign I was going to flare now just seems ever present. 🤷♀️
My lupus also seems to be under control after my infusion but I did get a very bright butterfly rash one night. For me it was linked to some emotional turmoil that had been going on and a busy day at work (sorted now!). After a good night sleep it died down but daily I do easily get Rosey cheeks. I think it can be a sign of a flare up but possibly a sign that we need a good rest! Just keep an eye on your other symptoms and if you are suffering then tell your nurse/ Rheumy.
