I’m in a happy & healthy relationship but I keep having horrible flashbacks and nightmares about my ex and what he did to me. It’s a never ending thing & I don’t want to stress my fiancé out with it….idk what to do anymore. I just wish my ex would get out of my memories!

I'm so glad you are in a good relationship now. We all deserve to be safe and happy.

I'm sorry you are having these flashbacks and nightmares.

It's not fair that the past comes back to haunt us when we are trying to move on with our lives.

Have you reached out to a professional. It sounds like more work is needed to put some of these old memories away.

Talking with your fiancé is important but maybe after you process this on your own first?

Please try and enjoy all the good you have happening around you now.

I’ve been where you are. And, I wish I could say there’s an easy answer for you but there is help out there for you to help you deal with the “old memories” & the horror you went through. Seek professional help, starting with your physician. Talk to your doctor - I mean TALK to him! And, the same to the person in your new relationship. This is nothing to be ashamed of. And, with help, I promised you, it will get better - you will feel better because you will be able to deal with the “memories” where they no longer have a place in your life. 🐺

do you have a counselor to help process these? Emdr may be a good one for you. Meditating and telling yourself things are better may help. Writing things may help.
