Sometimes, the past is a good thing to remember.

I received a phone call from an old school friend.

It was unexpected to say the very least.

He and I have moved along somewhat similar paths. Both of us unexpectedly went into the military, both of us have led lives of service to others, and both of us, have been widowed by the losses of our spouse.

His words were encouraging to me, and his genuine offer to be a source of spiritual and emotional comfort was just what my mind needed.

A far-in-my-past friend, and an unexpected yet powerful phone call, have placed a cap of comfort on my head for today.

Thank you, past, you came through for me this morning!

Everyone? I hope peace blankets you today, and always.

That's wonderful. I have always been a believer in the saying that when the student (You) is ready, the teacher (Your Friend) Will appear.

It appears your friend arrived at the right time!

Cheers, Midori

it was when I hit my own rock bottom (everyone’s is different). That my healing begin. People were put across my path and were part of that healing. Everyone here was in their own ways part of my healing. I realised I was not a crazy person but what I was experiencing others were or had experienced. So thank you all for your honest sharing and thanks for being part of the team that pulled me back from the hole I was quickly falling down.

I'm glad they were able to help you. Depression can be beyond one's ability to explain to another person.

I wallowed for years, just trying to tell myself I could bring myself out of the funk. Boy, was I wrong!

I needed help, and talking with other people who were going through it too, was a godsend!

I hope you continue to stay on the upper side of the surface.
