I comment strongly about bad doctors but have had good one and wonderful counselor for fifteen years
Miss her terribly she helped offset so much
Tip of the iceburg
Owe her so much
She is totally modest so I try not to say anyfing
There are others that pull ur heRt strings
This is the only lace u can say such things
Without it being distorted omg some people are incredibly kind and u just die inside having to tear yurself away from them Enduring jobs because of them
They never know it and for the best
If people only knew how much certain people admire and respect them
I'm really glad you've had good experiences with counsellors and doctors, Brig.
I think it's especially important in PTSD as part of it is trauma negatively impacting the way we view the world, so having those positive experiences can restore our faith and facilitate our recovery. I also think it can become easier to recognise the difference between a good or bad professional.
There can also be people in the field that are good people and competent at what they do generally, but may not necessarily be a good fit for us and what we need specifically, and that's okay. We just need to take the time to find people who are. It can take patience, but it's worth it.
I've generally (apart from occasionally being let down) had people who are okay, but there have only been a few who I've connected with on a deeper level. Finding someone you can connect with and having that continuity of care is really important.
I'm sorry you miss your counsellor so much and also want to add that it's okay to grieve.
