Ativan Update

Spoke to a retired nurse friend of mine today. She said that a small daily dose of Ativan at my age (62) and considering my health...I have a progressive auto immune disease, would be fine, When I expressed my concern over the addiction aspect of the drug, she said ‘if it gives you quality of life then so be it’.

Thoughts?

I think your nurse friend is correct. I use is ativan for anxiety frequently. In fact I am now on 2 mg per day divided dose for the foreseeable future.

Hi! I’m 56 and I’ve been on a low dose of Ativan for Anxiety and ptsd and it’s a life saver for me. I’m not addicted to it but of course if you take any type of a med for a long time - you would have to wing your self off. That’s not the same as an addiction.

I agree 💯 with your doc. I was suffering with the awful symptoms of Anxiety before I was put on this. That a horrible feeling. I have no side effects. I’m so thankful for this med. Hope this help. :)

Thanks for your reply. Do you take it every day? How much?

i think i agree...sometimes you have to accept some bad effects with the good, though i think there is supposed to be continuous follow up. while you do this you might also want to check other things that could help too---delta and alpha wave music on youtube is helpful for me
