So I went to the dentist and he said that I don't have TMJ but I do have a clenching problem that could eventually lead to TMJ. Lovely. He said I could get a mouth guard which most of the time insurance won't cover. Mine will not. They said the cost is $480 through them. So I got to looking online which details how dentists jack up the prices when I came across a site with excellent reviews and the cost was only $139.99. Has anyone tried this site? Suggestions please?!

Good to know you can help prevent it before it gets started. Good luck in finding something affordable. Have you tried the ones you can buy in the local stores, boil, and form kind? I don't know if that is just a US thing or not? I had to pay a big portion of mine.
No I haven't tried the boil ones. I looked at those and decided they were too huge for my mouth. They say a lot of times those end up falling out in the middle of the night or all my luck I would take it out myself and not remember doing it. I might try the online site. I have heard nothing but good about them. I need to do something because I just get tired of my face hurting, the headaches, and the earaches as soon as I get up. It was very nice to know I don't have anything wrong with my teeth other than that. I may be a little ocd about them lol.
These guards can end up causing TMJ - if they are the anti-snoring ones. Here in the UK I paid for a simple "plastic" guard for my top teeth and it cost me £85. It just protects the teeth from grinding down I think Does not stop the clenching, tho it does seem to be less.
It isn't an anti snoring one. It's a soft one that fits over my teeth as well. £85 is about $92 here.
£85 is more like $129.00.
can u post the site where u found this information please? tx
