P.T.S.D.: can it go away or be healed ive had... - Heal My PTSD
P.T.S.D.
Hi kwayne,
There is hope that PTSD can go away and be healed. Here is a thread that Michele started on this very subject.

How quickly you can be healed, I have no idea. I do know it does take work. It is hard to have patience, I know. We wish we could recover NOW! However, that wish can add more stress, which in turn makes things worse. So be easy and gentle on yourself. Take all the time you need to heal.
Reducing anxiety, stress and the associated triggers is key. There are many ways to do this. You an get many ideas of what might help you on this forum.
Michele gives us many great tools in her book and other resources. Here is a recent post she wrote that may help you: healthunlocked.com/healmypt...
You have come to the right place for support.
I wish you all the best,
AbideinLove
thank you that good to hear and i get her posts.i just didnt know it could go away im really happy to hearmthat.i havw friends with P,T,S,D, but they tell me it cant go away and they have had it for 20 years or more i dont want it any long then i need to deal with it. thank you abidienlove
I have found that by avoiding triggers life is better! ... Get a dog or cat, that helps tons! Find things( hobbies maybe) that you can concentrate on if you start to trigger. Look in the tools for PTSD for more ideas... Every one here is dealing with it and I think all of us are finding things that work for us!
Hi, Kwayne, In many cases PTSD can be healed. There are many of us, including me, who go through treatment and become fully free of symptoms. So, yes, there is hope for you.
We're each unique so our healing paths are completely individual -- you have to find your own process built on modalities that feel comfortable and resonate with you.
For starters, check out the recovery methods listed here -- they're not an exclusive list but they are some of the most popular that bring results: HealMyPTSD.com/treatment.
Read up, do your research, ask questions here in the forum and then identify what kind of healing method appeals to you and give it a try. See how far it takes you and then choose another one when you feel ready for something new.
I wish there was a one-size-fits-all program but there isn't, so it's really important for you to take the initiative (as you are by posting this thread) to find what you need and engage with practitioners who can help you.
We'll be here with you every step of the way!
Kwayne. Could you share with the group what caused your PTSD? maybe we could help more.
sire i was hit by a pick-up truck crossing at a cross walk with a friend i seen her go down then i went down i thought she was dead.but thank god she wasnt.we have been or i should say i have been seeing a mental health worker where i live and it has helped some.but i deal a lot of depression with this.i get scared real easy and i stay in my apt a lot beacuse i feel safer inside now then i do outside.the guy ran over my friend almost .but i was have flashbacks and really bad night mare until i one day i went into my drs office and said i cant do this anymore i need help/he gave me med now i sleep at least but i still dream.i hate pick-ups now
I find talking about it can trigger me... Just touching the edges of what caused it can keep a full blown trigger from happening, and helps lots with the triggering!
