Hi, I would say not a fibro issue. Sounds like you need to go back and speak with your GP.

would agree with Dizzytwo that it is not fibro, When talking to your GP maybe mention Sjogren's. It can cause the dryness your experiencing.

It could be your medication and not drinking enough water etc. Iam the same if i dont drink enough. Try drinking a lot more fluid for a couple of days snd see if that helps.

I agree,I have dry nose, mouth and eyes and was diagnosed with Sjogrens several years ago. They may refer you to a rheumatologist who are the specialists for Sjogrens. They can help with the dryness. It gets very confusing when you have several conditions.I have both fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and sjogrens. Some GPS are inclined to put everything down to Fibro. Hope you get help soon ❤️

Hello I had a dry mouth and eyes the optician told me that my eyes are dry there’s nothing serious there

I was only saying it COULD be sjogrens and to mention it to GP and explaining that rheumatologists can diagnose it or not as the case may be. As you say,it could be something simple. Worth asking though.

PS I hv dry eyes too...Waited 14months to see a hospital ocular person! Once seen they agreed and gave me eyedrops forever...

However, when I try to use drops I hv to bend my neck back so far and I feel really giddy so have to stop!

Would u believe it???

Asking someone else would be ideal but I live alone so my dry eyes only get hydrated when my partner visits...

You hv to laugh sometimes eh???

My initial referral was about strange symptoms in one eye, which I now know is probably a type of migraine with floaters???

Now, waiting to see a neurologist for migraines+headaches. I wake up with one every day so only living a half life here???

They really do wreck my living...

So yes, I can share a few extra symptoms with you all...

Hi, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 years ago and have suffered numerous symptoms for 9 years, including very dry eyes, nose and mouth. I have all the symptoms of sjogren's syndrome, including a dry cough, but different rheumatologists would not diagnose sjogren's, as my salivary glands looked normal and there were no antibodies in blood. They said I just have sicca syndrome. Seems odd though that my sicca symptoms started at exactly the same time as my fatigue, muscle stiffness pain etc.I have been seeing an optometrist regularly over the last 4 years, as my eyes are so bad. A recent blood test has shown antibiotics that can be a sign of connective tissue disease, so my GP has referred my back to rheumatology to a Doctor who specialises in sjogren's syndrome. I'm seeing her in April.

I should go back to your GP and mention Sjogrens, as previously suggested. Meanwhile, maybe visit your optician, who can measure the dryness, because despite me complaining about my severe dry eyes to different rheumatologists, it was my optician who referred me to Optometry at hospital.

You can buy preservative free eye drops over the counter and sugar free chewing gum helps with the dry mouth, also Biotene mouth wash and toothpaste. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much to help the dry nose. At times I've resorted to "bathing" the inside with a damp tissue.

I hope you manage to get sorted and would be interested to know how you get on. Sending best wishes.

Hi Thornthorpe yes I have a dry eye, nose and mouth, my nose also gets scabby. I blow it but nothing comes down so have to use a tissue to remove stuff (sorry don’t mean to be graphic) it hurts if you don’t remove it can also hurt when you do. Iv seen the doctor and she just gave me cream to put up my nose and said the medication is doing it x

just a thought has anyone suggested that this could be caused by silent acid reflux as you sleep?

I suffered the same until I started on Famotidine and raised the head of my bed.

I’ve also got friend who was suffering the same and has just been told by ENT that it’s silent reflux causing it

I'm curious about this, I get awful scabs and dry soreness in my left nostril, I can actually see them when I use a small torch...I have no clue what's causing it, I have fibro, me/cfs, under active thyroid etc but not sure what's causing and I drink lots of water, watered down drinks daily so I'm not dehydrated

Hi Thornthorpe,

Always check with your GP before googledoc.com otherwise like myself give yourself a diagnoses and worry until you've been,

It doesn't sound like any fibro symptoms but there are so many, every symptom of an illness can be compared with Firo these days, I hope they find a cure or a better way to rid us of the curse,

When my eldest Son was a wee un (Hes 36 now) had scabs and all sorts of gruesome things up his nose, I had to give him a powder anti-biotic in a yogurt, It was impetigoe *soz*spelling naf,

I don't know If adults can get it or not, There are so many more illnesses and such these days, It might be worth checking, Don't forget you can ask for a GP call back,

I hope you start feeling better soon,

Take care (Former username Debsdelight72) Debs x
