hi all, I’m just recently diagnosed, I was just wondering if anyone else experiences a burning sensation across there chest and there back? It seems to come and go, dr says it’s nerve pain, what do you all do to help with it?

Hello Mrs Wilkes

I suffer from this but for me, it's acid reflux. My GP prescribed me Famotidine and I also use Rennie. It can cause me to burp when it happens. When it is severe I have to rest propped up on pillows as it is worse when I lie down.

I hope you're able to find a solution.

Hi. As stated could be reflux from stomach but I had this sensation and Amitriptyline was helpful.

hi, yes I have the same problem, still get it now, also in my lower back and stomach, I have had all the tests, GP said nerve pain, I take Duloxetine, which actually helps take the edge off.

GP also said it could be acid reflux, I take gaviscon for a quick fix, and Lansoprazole.

I find it’s worse when I over do it, so could be my Fibro. I had to keep on to my GP, I really thought it was my heart!

Just get all these new symptoms checked out. This site has really helped me, lovely people.

Hope this helps and you have some good days over the holiday. X

Hi! Has your Gp tested you to rule out other things before saying its nerve pain ? I ask this as I also had a similar feeling that came and went.

I assumed it was nothing serious as at 46 ,a none smoker not obese, It couldn't be my heart.

Right up until I collapsed and was blue lighted to hospital where they discovered I was having a STemi heart attack and had to have emergency stents fitted.

I don't say this to frighten you but to ensure you have it thoroughly checked out, as with a fibromyalgia diagnosis it's all to easy to blame every new symptom on fibro which can be dangerous.

I'm now 54 with heart failure and fibromyalgia

Can you share what yours felt like? Was it burning? Where did you feel it? Did it bother you daytime, nighttime, or both? How long did it last each time?

Hope you don’t mind all the questions. 🫣
