I have both CLL (contained by Acalabrutinib with it's side effects) and Diabetes (controlled with slow release insulin, metformin and sitaglyptin plus a healthy biome-focused diet). At Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, I receive the best care imaginable but I have a problem over the Diabetes.

I have recently finished my 12 month treatment for V& O. I am pre diabetic and just had my yearly checkup. My blood sugars are now in the normal range.i.e. not diabetic. hi everyone, we had an appointment with the diabetes team today, we are trying to get dad a blood sugar monitor as his levels go as low as 2 and he nearly passes out he is 86 and lives alone we are funding the monitors ourselves as the doctor won’t prescribe them the diabetes team won’t either am at

I have never been diagnosed with diabetes but seem to every so often get low blood sugar type symptoms if i miss a meal and feel better if i have a sugar drink or piece of fruit. Could this be relating to the adrenals?

I’m inclined to suggest to GP that I start to reduce the diabetes meds as I really feel that my general malaise started soon after these were thrown into the mix.

In the 3 minute consultation she said that I needed to take medication for the diabetes. No question of diet or anything else.

Hi folks , I have nephrogenic diabetes which was caused by taking lithium and I know this isn't really the right chap group as its not related to diabetes as the name suggests.

Now, since PMR & Pred from November2023, it's jumped to 46... despite huge cuts in anything sweet and also cutting most carbs. 48 is consistent with diabetes. Has anyone done the Michael Mosely diet? I know nothing about it nor which book of his is easiest to follow. Thank you.

Useful for those who've been told they are in the pre-diabetes or even diabetes range or worried about weight gain and/or raised blood sugar levels due to steroids.

can anyone confirm to me this that hopefully this shows I don’t have kidney problems or diabetes? Many thanks

I have also asked the Diabetes Clinic in the Mater Hospital who run a day centre for people with diabetes, including the services of a dietitian, a nutritionist, and endocrinologist and other specialists if they would take me on to support me in my attempt to reverse the diabetes.

I need to ask whether other members with Diabetes type 2 and Polymyalgia Rheumatica have seen similar issues with blood sugar control.

One other thing I have suffered with for some time is fatigue and nausa but is it the PMR or could this be my type 2 diabetes. Been a diabetic for 20 years taking Metformin and then the last 10 years Metformin and Gliclazide , both come with side effects.

has anyone on here with cirrhosis had type 2 diabetes? I am now on insulin but the doctor said I should be able to get off the shots hopefully in a few months. I’ve been on for 2 days and it definitely is reacting to the shots.

I have been diagnosed with steroid induced pre diabetes. I read somewhere that a chromium supplement can help? Anyone else tried ? I’ve been taking pred since January, currently on 6.25mg
