Hi Sophie Yes got in to see GP today was given stong antibiotics big yellow bullots hope they work as last time. i had to have 3 lots then steroids before it cleared. also he checked my notes and i should have seen the consultant who done my gallbladder and cyst OP back in september so i hade to ring for a appointment when i got home seeing him next week. But i did tell him i am fed-up with everthink being put down to the fibro andd he gave me a appointment to see him in two weeks time after i explain how hard it is to get a appointment since haveing the fibro. who said life begins at 50 mine seems to be onee thing after another .xx
It sounds as though you are having a really rough time and need to see the doctor now as your poor body doesn't seem to be able to fight it on its own. My friend who has COPD has had a chest infection for about 2 months now and every time she thinks it is going it seems to be coming back with a vengence, she says she is much worse on the damp, windy days. She found in the end she had to have another antibiotic and some steroids and that "fingers crossed" seems to be doing the trick. I think chest infections bring you down if you haven;t got anything else wrong with you but if you have fibro they are like a double wammy. Because I suffer with costo chondritis and my ribs are always painful I dread having chest infections. Do let us know how you get on.x
Hi Rosewine The doctor checked today and i have had 6 chest infections sinc january lastt time had to have a chest infection. just hope this medication works as i do need to start emas shopping . Hug,s xx
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you bad time of year to get anything like this as the damp cold weather doesn't help. Try and keep warm and rest up for a few days and hopefully the meds will start working. Hugsx
Hi fibro10, i have chest infection at moment as does my daughter of 14, weboth have asthma so is very painful but overwhelmingly exhausting, dragging ourselves through the day, lot of time in bed. Wish there was someone to do cooking etc,. My daughter is worse, she has had a course of steroids and now antibiotics, if it carries on much longer i eill go for antibiotics. Good luck with gp,
I am so sorry to read that you are feeling so ill at the moment, and I genuinely hope that you start to feel more like your usual self again soon. I know from experience that chest infections are horrid, so you have my sympathies.
