Has anyone tried testosterone ?

Just diagnosed with Fibro. I read somewhere that testosterone was helpful in dealing with the disease. Has anyone tried this? I am a woman and I remember testosterone was helpful during menopause. I just rubbed it on my belly. I'm now 74 and wondering if I should use it to relieve symptoms of Fibro.

I wanted to but my gp referral got turned down from the menopause clinic, am interested to hear if anyone else has managed to get it and what results they may have had.

the predominance of females with fibro has meant that hormones have been a focus but there has been nothing conclusive or substantive that supports the use of testosterone for fibro. Now we are having a more balanced fibro population you could say that hormones are less important in investigating.

I've been on testosterone at least a year and it's not helped my fibro I'm afraid. It has helped my libido though 👍. I went private to get prescribed and now by GP has to honour my repeat prescriptions! Good job as privately, the testosterone is expensive!

Thanks Loobielu. I would basically want it to help with Fibro but increasing my sex drive would be a great plus. I'm in the U.S. so I'll try to figure out how to get it here.

Hey blueisgreen, my personal thought would be, I already have to pluck hair out of my chin and lip without testosterone haha just kidding, I'd take nearly everything a go if it made me feel better
