I am quite interested in alternative remedies. I have ordered some turmeric capsules to help with inflammation as I cant take ibuprofen and such like. Already take enough medication so want to try and manage through natural route as much as possible.

Has anyone used turmeric as an antiflamitory and does it help. Thank you lisa x

you can search on the forum to find how others have used it and there is a variety of responses from positive through to negative. But one thing I would say is that as fibro is not inflammatory in nature that aspect will not be helped.

all the best

Thank you. That's really helpful. I get really bad headaches and previous used to use ibuprofen which helped however had to have one of my kidneys removed so can no longer take them. X

Not tried it myself but I am consulting with my pharmacy and doctor later today. A friend who has gout takes one tablet a day and has not had any flare ups since taking, he buys his on Amazon.

Hi, I have taken turmeric for over 8 years now as I can’t take ibuprofen (following a gastric bleed on Naproxen) and I feel the difference if for any reason I forget to take them for only a few days. I know of quite a number of people with varying conditions that also benefit.

As others have said, no one thing suits everyone so is a deal of trial and error, but I would rather trial and error with turmeric than strong meds with their side effects that require other meds and so on etc!!

I also try and use it in cooking as much as possible, soups etc to use a variety of forms of the curcumin.

Good luck and I hope you find some benefit from it.
